I agree that keeping the logo on the car is important, but if the guy on top has a more expensive car than one of his employees, isn't that the way it works in most companies? Why would TCOT be exempt from management heirarchy?
As far as someone who works from their home, it really doesn't matter where you are working from, as long as the job is getting done. If you need to climb a tree to get the job done, then climb a tree. If all you need to do is look at numbers and write memos, you can write a memo and push numbers from home just as easy as you can from a stuffy office. And personally, you would probably get more done from home right now anyway, with all the people at the office wanting to talk COT/Davey politics, what a distraction that would be to any productivity.
No matter if you work for TCOT (or Davey), if you want to keep your job, just do your job. In acquisitions, it is usually the executives who are offerred a lesser position or eliminated first. Then the slackers, who sit around not working but whining about everything they don't have, that get let go. Don't fool yourselves. Davey will eventually figure out who works more or less than others.
Life usually gives you what you make out of it, as a COT employee, you can either embrace this as a positive change and an awesome opportunity, or you can sit around feeling sorry for yourself and bash current and former employees.
