Canopy Anchor Hardware and Tecniques

I'll stick to a Basal Anchor, w/ a descender for Emergency let down! No freakin' way am I spending that kind of $$ for a fancy shackle! I can buy a slic pin for $9 $ drill a stainless $10 shackle/clevis and still spend $10 less for 2 of them. Some peoples kids! I'm not a big fan of side loading even a steel Biner! Hopefully, they won't sell like coffee on a cold morning, & they correct the pricing! Hopefully! [emoji24]

I bought one. Used it all day today and I love it. The manufacturing drove the price up from what I understand. I'm a gear head anyway so I didn't mind shelling out the cash. Retrieval is much easier. I could hear the pin spinning all the way down. Two thumbs up Kevin!!

I'm guessing that if somebody kept ordering these a million at a time every few months, the price would drop quickly. I don't see that happening. Small batches of anything that is well made will always be expensive, especially for the early adopters. It does seem high, but it's a specialty item.

Okay gents, just finished up w/ Pivot Point, the makers of the Slic Pins, they want $22 for 1000 pins, then I'd get a discount of $3 after that, so my plan isn't financially feasible for me to do what I wanted to do. Total BS, but TS is still marking up their product 200%, that doesn't account for Kevin's share! So that bites! Sorry, I even went to Milwaukee this morning to get the stainless clevises and shackles before I got the bad news! Any other ideas from some of you guys would be very cool. I'm gonna wind up buying 1 from TS just to have one. That sucks!!!
