For people that have them could you show me some close up pics i would like some to get a better view of the saddle.

Also 4 questions...

Are there slots for caritools?

Once the stock bridge wears out can you just replace it with a section of rope with two double fishermen knots?

Is there a place that sells them for less than $299 which is Sherrill's current price?

How well does this saddle hold up?

I'll have to look for some pics. It does not have slots for a cari-tool but you can fit one onto the belt just behind the D rings. I quit using the a caritool and have a paddle biner lashed on there now. It has small rings on each side and three gear loops... that's it, no other accessory attachments.
The stock bridge is easy to replace if you can splice but based on another thread here (Close to death), you'll want to be careful what materials and attachments you use.
Don't know about the price thing, I got mine from Sherrills.
Mine is holding up well. I bought a Butterfly I from Tom D and it's still a solid saddle.

It's a simple, light saddle that will do you right for a long time once you get it fitted.

Yes..the bridge can be replaced using a rope that is suitable for use as a climbing line
Mine has held up very well. ON some of them the stitc hing that holds on the edge banding material of the back pad starts to wear. If the stitching is fixed right away it won't continue.

One comment... The elastic adjustments for the leg straps are cheesy. I had to put a half hitch in mine to get them to stay put. Google 'Komet Butterfly II Saddle' for some good pics.

Yep, same here. Getting it to fit and keeping it like that is the one problem I have with my BFII. You can also sew the elastic straps. Once everything is secure though, it's a great harness.

man i must have got a bad one. i bought mine in may and it was worn out in september. the almost didn't allow it at gear inspection at the tn tcc in knoxville. about two weeks later my boss told me i couldn't use it anymore. the suspension points that hold the bridge were abraded, the stitching was coming loose. i still use the bridge and shackles on my master 2 what a great saddle with that bridge. but anyway , i weight 210# and am 6' 1'' i might have been to big for the saddle (my boss's op) and i climb very aggressively, well as aggressively as you can being a green horn. just my $.02 worth

cool thanks...yea if you could get some pics of your current setup on the butterfly that would be great....I think at the midwest urban tree care forum in chicago I will have to find one and try it on.....I am looking to buy a saddle soon and sort of came down to the ergovation, butterfly II and maybe the petzl sequoia idk...but yea if you have some pics that would be great thanks

Wesspur has them for $269.00 and free shipping. They come with the long bridge, I prefer the shortbridge, not sure if they sell the saddle with the short bridge though. Another way for them to make a few bucks, but correct me if I'm wrong.

yea i just saw that when i was doing a general search of the saddle if i get that saddle thats where i would get it

you can order from Fresco and have them install the shorter bridge that is sold for the harness.

i love mine, if you back feed the elastic straps as everyone suggest they stay put.

Any coordination in colors is purely coincidental, but it ain't bad now that I look at it that way.

I kinda like paddle biners. I use that one and another one to haul up my chainsaw pretty much every day. What bugs you about'em?
