Be careful of the edges on the cheek plates. They will compromise a running rope if contacted.

have you had this happen?

I had it happen on an RP130 using a 1/2" DB. Compromsed approx. 12' of rope about 30' from the end.
I have since rounded the edge slightly with a Dremel tool. Stainlees steel is tuff to round over. Haven't done it on my other 2 RP130's and RP131.
I would like to see the new DMM rigging blocks with the rounded over cheek plates. DMM did it right. The ISC blocks have rounded over cheek plates, I just am not keen with the springlock design. Have heard of 2 instances where the springlock accidently opened during drop hitching. One, the cheek plate swung open, exposing the lowering line. The other, the pin just rotated to the 'open' position, but the cheek plate DID NOT swing open.

I have. I was lowering an oak limb using a 1/2 line in a 3/4 inch cmi block. The line slipped off the truck and torqued around the plate. The line as it zipped through cut right off. I was just starting out at the time and didnt have the proper size blocks for all my lines. Trying to save money cost me in the long run. Thankfully nothing was damaged outside of turf and the groundie was well out of the way.

Hey guys new to the board and first post.
Watch the rating on the CMI 3/4" blocks, They make a couple different ones that look alike. One has a WLL of 4,000 lbs. and the other is 2,500lbs. WLL. Sherrill sells the 4K for 90 bucks and Wes Spur sells the 2.5K for 89 bucks. and Bailey's has an identical looking one to the one sold by Wes Spur's with a 5k rating for 85 bucks. Read the fine print and make sure you get the one you want. My partner was oogling pictures and ordered the 2.5K thinking it was the 4K rated one, saved 2 dollars and 1.5K WLL in one shot. Ooops! that will learn him.
Hope the info. is helpful
