This past winter, Matt Delimont and I flew to California to experience some Western trees for a few days.
Tad at TreeMasters in California invited me after I met him at TCIA expo, Baltimore. ( I said I would love to climb a Euc one day; he said, "come on out, I'll set one up").
Brian Bixler, Matt Delimont and the TreeMaster ground crew assisted me (as the climber). Later in the day, one of their climbers joined me and I got to see a Euc man doing his thing and picked up some "tricks" on how to deal with those slippery heavy giants.
The ground crew worked together very well.
treebuzz's Bixler was a great help and he felt like a long time co-worker and friend. He is now a friend for sure.
Anyway, Brian and Matt both got some pictures and video here and there during the job.
At the end of the day, I was happy and descending fast on my spider jack.
Bixler snapped a still photo and it was decent.
About a month or more ago, I sent in some decent pictures to TCIA magazine.
They put that picture Bixler snapped on THIS months cover.
I had no idea that they were interested in that picture as a cover or I would have given more information on it.
I should have had Brian Bixler named as the person who snapped the picture.
When I learned it was going to be a photo on the cover the text about the photo was already set in print. I called Bixler to apologize. Of course, he was happy as could be and couldn't care less that his name was not in print. Just happy his photo was used.
I don't have time yet to be on the buzz, but felt he deserved a nice public THANK YOU BIXMAN! here on the buzz.
