I can't believe that YOU read GQ magazine. Someone must have told you about that.

Fine, let's have it out there, I don't care. I'll even post a picture of the cover.

Tad is a great guy and now a new friend on the West Coast. He treated us like kings; ate breakfast at his own house and treated us to the most amazing food I've had in a very long time.

And thanks Jer, big compliment for Bix coming from a camera and tree climbing pro like yourself.

Thanks Jer, you know how it goes... you think your gonna do pics/vid all day, and you end up busting your tail to get the job done. Got lucky on that one, was trying to dial in the lighting all day - Turned out good.

Awesome shot. I met Tad in Portland, (at a Thai restaurant.) His company has removed some unbelievably huge trees.

Small world Fred, can't say enough good things about Tad, he did truly treat us like kings. After we battled the tree, he took us out to the best steak house in town, spared no expense.

Most of all he showed me around the office, gave me priceless biz tips, a whole packet of paperwork in fact. I talked at length to his sales guys and got some great industry secrets passed along my way, which I now use on my bids. He's one hell of a hard worker as well, and was running circles around me on the ground.

I'm quite sure TCIA was the arb mag that paid me for the use of 4 of my images for an article about 2005-6....

They really should have asked for and given photo credit, just as David should have identified the photographer.

For a mag of TCIA's circulation, $200-300 would be a fair compensation for a cover image, I'd estimate.

Oh, and Brian, great shot of that photoslut and GQ guy David!

because it's true. Yes, I am a photoslut, always trying to get all the glory, well, most of the time, unless it's one of my co-workers climbing. Expanding one's recognition tends to lead to good things.

I found some more photos from the job...

We had a very steep driveway to contend with. It was slick in the morning until the fog burnt off.

Access Line and Lowering Line set and Xman begins to work his way up.

Xman working in tree - Action rigging shot as MattyD lets it run... Very large limbs began to come down on this tree.

TreeMasters Crew set up with Large chipper, filling up that chip truck.

Thanks Rog, LOL

And the madness continued...

I took these photos while working. Many of the crotches had to be crippled to fit in the Landing Zone... Chipper winch was also used to keep the material moving, keeping the work area clean.

An additional crew showed up in the late afternoon. They were able to clean the debris off the steep hillside. When the other truck filled up with the brush, this chipper moved into its placed and chipped larger wood.
