That's about what I would guess. Helicopters are very expensive and offer zero margin for error.

I've been in a number of helicopters, but I've never flown one, nor have a been hoisted by one. That could be fun too!

They are sticky which was strange to me as I thought that was a conifer thing.

I took down and hauled off 9 smaller ones for this guy a while back. Me and two guys in one day one forklift. Those I could drop with a little thought and redirecting.

This one I’ll probably be up in the bucket feeding two telehandlers, logs on a big flatbed truck/gooseneck, guy with a chipper feeding two big gooseneck dump trailers.

One Tele has a bucket, I might firewood some of it straight into that and then a dump trailers.

I could probably get everything done and offsite in a day but all together prolly two.

The chipper guy will take the chips and I’ll take the logs.

All depends who and what all is available.
 
Seems to be like a static cable on the end of a stick-crane boom or an 'knuckeless' boom with a hook.

Seems very useful.

I figured wood miller told me a long time ago that they are useful for picking butt logs
 
That drone is probably above that cutoff point of recreational civilian use. I wonder what license is required for something that size, and what another size or two up would look like. I loves me a crane so a sky crane sounds slick.

I’ve actually often thought of a long, lightweight conveyor belt would be cool for the septic guys that have to load dirt into trucks out of a tight back yard. Haven’t seen anyone employ one yet, but it could be handy as heck for a lot of tree job sites I’ve encountered.

That is cool, but lifting a tree 220 pounds at a time would be rather slow. Still, it's an interesting concept, and shows promise for the future as things develop further.

One of our local rental companies has 20 foot sections of conveyor, they are small enough you can thread one through a casement window into a basement, I'm sure you could set one or more up in line to move material out of a backyard as well. https://gappower.com/products/dirt-...21?_pos=1&_psq=Conveyor&_psid=a8bc67457&_ss=e

If the customer is paying who cares how long it takes.
 
Copters are generally 1:1 weight to payload limit so that's a big, heavy drone!

Darpa had a challenge to try for 4:1 or payload = 4x empty weight. Anyone else remember the first email addresses on arpanet and darpanet? Pretty much always ended in .edu

Best I can tell is that NZ and AUS have a whole different set of regulations. A previous video I read some of the discussion comments, and there are bigger ones with more capacity yet unobtainable due to regs. The in tree picks are super conservative way more than working within 50% of crane boom capacity. This is evident of the static pick of the back of wood at the end.
 
Over the years with my little C10 crane, I’ve watched countless 500# picks float away from me. It’s still a decent amount of material. I want to revisit when a larger drone ise able to get into that ballpark.
