BFII Issues

I posted this last year and people basically said give it some time to break in. Well its VERY annoying now. This is a very comfortable saddle when I am just sitting still, or for the first 1/2 hour of my climb. After that ALL the straps start to bleed out. the waist and leg webbing, the elastic straps on the back of the legs too. I am not climbing with an 880 on my belt I have a handsaw and a 200T. It sucks that after a 1 hour climb I come down undo my leg straps and my waist belt falls off without being unbuckled!

I cant just throw this on it has to be adjusted EVERY time I put it on and sometimes while in the tree!!!

What should I do? Is there a fix? Am I the only one with this problem?

Mine did it too until I folded the ends of the straps back through the buckle. It creeps a tiny bit now but I go probably 30 or 40 hours in the saddle before I have to tighten them again.

You could stitch'em once they're where you want'em. Easy enough to pull the stitches later if you have to.

Blinky's got the idea... or you could retire your BF II and buy a treeMotion.

Sew it. This is a project anyone can handle if you have a needle and thread, dental floss, etc. It doesn't take much to keep the straps in place. The buckle holds them in place when there is load on the straps. You just need a little bit to hold things together when there is NO load on the straps.

I did this to the leg straps on my Master II years ago and I love not having to EVER have to tighten them.

I've only been on mine since February. I put a half hitch in the waist strap, never had a problem with it. I keep the leg straps loose so that isn't a problem for me. As far as suspenders I took off the old bridge and sewed it on the back as an attachment point. I'll try to get pics up tonight.

i used suspenders for the b2 just because the chainsaw weight kept sliding the saddle to the right, after i added the suspenders i had no problems and loved the saddle again, i bought them for 50 bucks from sherrill and jerry rigged em on, they arent fall arrest just tool suspenders but it was the best 50 bucks i spent, the only reason i dont wear it any more is because of the treemotion i picked up

I climbed on a B'Fly II until I got the Treemotion saddle. The B'Fly II worked good for me. But I have found that the B'Fly II saddle has a love or hate reputation!!!

After climbing with a Master Classic falling off my butt for too long... I love my BFII.

Sounds like a common problem, happens on my bf2 also, a poster on another forum puts a couple of stitches in the webbing to lock the straps in place. Seems like good idea but not too sure how it may affect the strength of the webbing.

It is annoying.

I think it's worth re-iterating the point that it makes a hell of a difference if you clip your saw strop to the middle rear gear loop.
I'd never want my saw on the side D again.

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, that's how I wound up in a BFII to begin with... I shrunk right out of a size Medium Master... talk about problems with having a chainsaw on the saddle.

With the BFII I use a caritool on the right hip for my close saw attachment.
