[...]i carry a fl strap two dynemia straps a polesaw strap and a couple williams hms biners a chain saw and a hand saw. and a ditty bag. by the way you can always add more gear loops

I'll be damned, twice in one day. That's my exact kit except instead of the FL loop, I carry the CMI Twin Arborist.

I have worn both the Buckingham Master and the Petzl Navahoe. I like the multiple attachment points on the Master and they are both equally not the most comfortable saddle you can buy. With that said I still have my Navahoe purchased in 1997, use it from time to time and retired the Master a long time ago. However now that old age has set in I climb on a Komet Dragonfly with the bosun seat.

im hoping for something with a bit less leg pinch

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by leg pinch, so just a thought here...are you climbing in denim jeans as in your avatar? A gussetted crotch work pant that is a bit stretchy can help a lot.

I used to wear Carharts.

Now, I wear these Riggs work pants http://www.gemplers.com/product/145855/Riggs-Workwear-Ripstop-Pants-Cargo-Pockets?
Still cotton, but comfortable, and I can use the cargo pockets for my phone, food, etc.

Better, but more expensive are my Arborwear Tech pants that I tend to live in daily. If I'm not working at "work", I'm frequently working around home.

Just saw this, too http://www.treebuzz.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=259163&an=0&page=0#259163.

Good thinking, I always forget about this when someone asks about harnesses. Most climbers start out in jeans but they really suck for climbing and definitely cause pinch... and crush. Once you try climbing pants you won't go back to jeans.

Pants with a gusseted crotch should be one of the first things a climber buys. Surplus BDU pants are cheap and good if your budget is tight.

dude spend a dollar and get away from that butt strap. it will be the best investment you ever made. in the long run you hips and knees will thank you. in the short run will will get more production which means more money.

i think the weaver cougar will have the same issue as the master classic with crunching in the jewls and i cant decide between the 2 of them. i like the fact that the cougar has a rope bridge for better mobility when limb walking but dont like what people say about it having to much padding. here in hawaii it is on average 80% humidity and 70f-90f.
i like the weight of the master classic and like the way the leg loops look like they will disperse more of your weight evenly across your legs but dont like the non floating bridge.
so it comes down to better mobility or comfort. makes me wonder if i should just suck it up in a ball pinching saddle with good mobility or have a comfy saddle, wishing i had a floating bridge when walkin out on a limb.
ha life is full of choices that almost allways tend to end with a compromise. im leaning more to the cougar but as previous people here have stated, it isn't really that good.

Don't just "suck it up" in a ball pinching saddle if this is what you're going to be doing as your source of income! I live down here In Mississippi where June - September the temps are around 95 with humidity between 80 - 95%. I get soaked - head to toe - but i'm working! What's the big deal with sweating?! I'll admit that I haven't tried a bunch of saddles but I've been perfectly happy with the Cougar for the last 2 years. I went from a butt strap Weaver to the Cougar and the difference was amazing. I realize if I went to the Ergo now or TM I might call the Cougar a "steaming pile of crap," but right now I have no quams with the Cougar! I do think i'm gonna try the Sequoia, though, when I buy a new one.

Oh, and yes the Arborwear pants are nice with the gusseted crotch, but the legs are too tapered for my liking bc they won't stay on the outside of my merrells without constantly tugging on them!
