Arbpro Clip'N vs. HAAS 2.0

I'm shopping for new boots right now. The decision might have just been made.

How do you attach the Pantin or right foot ascender? Did I miss something in the vid?

I kind of like having the Pantin always on my foot, ready to ascend.

Tom, the Pantin was connected as normal. There is a connection point on each boot for the user's choice or preference. I haven't yet used the built-in strap on the right, since my Pantin straps on as normal, though some folks may have a L-foot Pantin and want to hook the HAAS on the R-foot.

As Jimmy said, I'm sure some people will have other rope walking systems that will match up great with these boots.

The foot locking portion was also to show that the boot straps do not interfere with more traditional practices when the time is right for them. This is why the Pantin was off on the second side of the tree.

Eric,
What if you're not wearing your special boots? Is the HAAS 2.0 not obsolete on that particular day? I only ask because I do switch boots from time to time.

That's a good question. My guess is that if you had a foot loop that could connect to the lower biner (or trade the biner for a mini oval link?), you could run it that way. I imagine it wouldn't cinch tightly like the HAAS 1, unless you built the add-in loop to do so, which I'm sure is somehow possible.

Actually, not a bad idea. Make a small whoopie with a tight eye on one end. Clip tight eye into the biner and voila, adjustable footloop (when needed)

Voila! (followed by a magicians hand gesture, and like sparkles and junk) :)

I have an idea that may work for you TL. Just need to get a photo of it posted. And it is a cheap solution.

If I don't buy a pair of those boots I'm going to lace in a piece of shoelace in an X pattern using two pairs of eyelets. A solid ring will be girth hitches in the X

....you going to make me beg? ......and who is selling them, I'm begging.
HA! Luke should have them in stock in the near future. Alessandro stated that they would be available in 12.5 US (46.5 EU)

Beware of that idea, Tom. I wouldn't know from experience...(ahemm, cough, cough), but you wouldn't want that idea to explode on you mid-ascent. Just sayin'...

No, TL, I had some laces hold tough enough to rip apart the eyelet system on the boots. These were the inspiration for the Clip'N boots, and me likes the Arbpro version more-est because the straps are still available for use when wearing spurs...not like my DIY Salewas.

How are they with spikes oceans?
They're great in my opinion. Comfy for me with my Axess Climbing Spikes. I'm not sure about how other spurs feel, but the Axess are a Euro style and sit much shorter than typical spikes. Most importantly, I don't have discomfort or slop in the arch area. I know some folks like high heeled boots, but I can't fly those. I used them for a multi-stemmed tree dismantle a few days ago. Real nice.
