Arborwear Dogwood Chainsaw Pants

I was ordering some work pants and noticed Arborwear has some new lightweight chainsaw protection pants. Has anyone tried the Dogwood Chainsaw pants? How do they compare to Clogger Zero? Durable? Breathable? Safe?

Love em. Haven’t owned them long enough to weigh in on durability, but so far they’ve held up super well. Haven’t put a saw into them, but by the numbers they’re safe. I’ve got some zeroes also, but have been gravitating to the dogwoods 5 days a week since I’ve owned them….. Very comfortable saw pants, that look fairly close to normal pants. Price compared to clogger is significantly better too.

I have been doing a compare and contrast between the new Arborware dogwood pants and the clogger zero. I have worked in temps from 50 to 107 fahrenheit (10 to 42 celsius) over the last 3 months. For context I wear chainsaw pants 99% of the time when I work, climbing, lift or ground work.

when comparing head to head, I prefer the Arborware. The fit is more comfortable. The cloggers fit me snugly, which is OK but they seem clingy on very hot days. The Arborware pants were a bit looser.

I have never liked the way the waist on the clogger and other European pants are cut. They always seem a bit loose and funnel sawdust down my shorts. While I prefer to wear a belt at all times with chainsaw pants, the wiast on the dogwoods was more comfortable. The large mesh panel offered better ventilation than the smaller on on the cloggers.

Longevity on the Cloggers is fine I have pairs 3-4 years old, but they do look that old. So far the Arborware pants look like new after a wash, but they have not seen near the wear of my cloggers.

All in all both pants are excelent, I prefer the fit of the dogwoods especially on those really hot days. I understand this is totally subjective, but it is my .02

As the weather turns colder here on the east coast of the US I will be breaking out the Husqvarna technical pants as either of these lighter weight pants won’t keep my skinny ass from freezing.

Tony, how is the waist band on the dogwoods? Is it high like the husqy tech pants? Or low like the zeros. I like the tech pants but the last 3 pairs have ripped (within a couple months) right below the crotch across the back of my thigh. Looking for something else. Have the zeros and have been wearing them all summer but have never been fond of the low waist and yoga pants butt.

But those desperate housewives will tell their friends about you, that yoga pants butt is good for business, jk, I don't love it either mostly the lack of pockets and the elastic on my treemo has ridden up my crack like a tiny g-string a few times since I've had them. They are more comfortable than my husky technical though, and have lasted way way longer than the last pair.

I would say the waist band on the dogwoods is not as high as the Husky Tech pants. It seems like it is thensame as all Arborware pants.

@chiselbit Id say in confidence, for the price you can’t go wrong with these. They are as comfortable as athletic sweat pants, and have held up really well in the brush. Even the spot on the thigh where a racked saw’s dogs/bar and chain ride/rub show no signs of wear after 4 months of use. I will be ordering another pair of dogwoods when these give up the ghost. Don’t get me wrong the zeroes are a well designed pant, that hold up well too, I just lean to the dogwoods 100% of the time now.

I would second that. The zeros are fine pants, but as my remaining pairs age and are retired I will be replacing them with the dogwoods. I prefer the fit and feel.

Hi! The dogwoods are sized by waist and inseam so they should be the same size as a normal pair of pants.
