Anyone conceal carry while working?

I have toyed around the idea of taking my pistol (M&P Shield 9MM) when working since I feel that I should protect myself when going around with a ton of nice tempting equipment when mowing lawns. Seen posts on other forums about people getting mower stolen, being confronted by people ETC.

The problem that I had is I have an outside the waistband holster, and since I am right handed, it is on my right side, which is where the trimmer tends to rest...
This is always a very hot topic. Let me make a suggestion, if you are going to carry a gun like a police officer does I think you may want to carry body armor as well. Also make sure that anyone that is with you is also wearing body armor. Additionally, you need to let everyone you work with or that is near you, know you are carrying a concealed weapon. Statistics show that you are more likely to shoot yourself or those near you.
So if you want to work in the tree wearing body armor, it's very hot and uncomfortable, I know, and work by yourself, go for it.

Protecting one's life, because they started out protecting their property, often does not work out real well.
Again, glad you and your family are safe.

I think I made it clear that I would not protect property with a gun. I will however protect my family and one would have to be quite naive or maybe even a little dim witted to believe that if someone is in your home by breaking in that your family is not in jeopardy.

You can choose to be a non gun owner and advocate for it for others...but given the current state of economy and the rash of break ins and thefts everywhere and anytime...you may be compromising your family's safety being that guy.

And be sure to carry enough sets for your clients to wear while you're on their site. Safety first!

now is that funny because BO says he is not taking our guns and they all absolutely DO plan to take them....or is it funny that anyone should worry about taking their guns away because...well....things are just over stated as to the danger lurking out there and the need to protect your fam and yourself?

It's funny because of the overall tone and fear mongering in the message.

I find it amazing that there so very few pro-gun owners willing to entertain the fact that they and their families could be safer with stricter gun controls. All they hear is, "Government wants to take my guns so we're powerless to stop them from becoming a bunch of fascist pigs.", which is the most asinine argument imaginable. What you call a means of protection (a gun), ten others use as a tool for instilling fear, misplacing authority, and causing general mayhem.

I am completely lost at the meaning of your post. But libs usually strike me that way. You think there is no cause for fear in today's society. Where do you live? Some obscure rural area in Iowa?

There's a ton of information available. It's everyone's job to take that info and make their own decisions and assessments.

I'm continually amazed by the rights people are willing to give up. Rights that don't exist anywhere else in the world. Rights that were fought for by previous generations. Rights that were previously so closely held by freedom loving people. I believe it's somewhat like losing a close loved one--you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

And you did, I'm sorry I got a little loose with the pronoun "you", after referring in the general, "as one would"...
At any rate I think your view is very balanced.
Now that I'm a little drawn into this conversation I'd like to make a couple of points.
By all means, a hot burglary, the bad guy has entered your home is very different than you see the guy break into your truck and you go out to confront him/her.
There are some really tough decisions when you hear someone coming into your house and most people are not prepared to make them or even know what they are.
Out in the street it is much much worse.

Canada, you're über-liberal neighbour to the north.

Not saying there is no cause for fear, just that much of the fear in today's society is misplaced and exaggerated.

I lived in Canada (eh?) Peterborough (Bridgenorth) Ont. for few years and graduated from hs there. Had a bunch of Labatts and Molsen swilling buds that would blow someone's head clean off their shoulder like a bowling ball going down a lane to pick a spare with the ten pin were someone to enter their homes.

Your Govt.'s liberal...not the masses outside the cities which what is trying to develop here with urban high population libtards also.

It ALL hinges on this election...and if the cheating can be suppressed unlike the last election.

The largest gun shop in Canada is less than an hour from my house. We still have guns. We can still buy guns. We just don't have a gun culture. There is a major difference between gun controls and outright bans.
