Almost made myself a stain

Kinetic energy is energy of motion. The kinetic energy of an object is the energy it possesses because of its motion. The kinetic energy* of a point mass m is given by ... Kinetic energy is an expression of the fact that a moving object can do work on anything it hits; it quantifies the amount of work the object could do as...

Whatever Blinky, you probaly beleive everything you read in the dictionary

Kinetic energy - energy in motion; static energy - potential energy or mass at rest... I don't own a dictionary. Like i said, my fifth grade teacher was hot so i listened.

Well, I read Blinky's post, and other than using static in place of potential, I don't see error in his comment at all.

If I understand Blinky correctly, he was simply saying that if the piece wasn't moving, it had potential energy and zero kinetic energy which is exactly correct.

Once it started in motion, it gained kinetic energy and still had potential energy as well, am I missing something?

Yeah, I screwed up and said static instead of potential but the meaning is the same. I just have to crack on Jesse whenever I can to keep his head from getting any bigger... that and it's fun cuz he's an easy target.

Hmmm, I see, so there's more going on here than meets the eye.
