2010 Florida TCC

but does it have a hot tub? for us southerners I am told we will need to thaw out. Ron was at our house this weekend and told me what a wimp I was for freezeing. He said just wait till you get up to Tally.

Proper pruning with Dr. Ed Gilman will now be from 9:00AM until 12:00 Noon, followed by a one hour break, please bring a lunch or be prepared to leave for lunch, lunch will NOT be provided.
Then from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Lt. David Harris will provide information on safe loading and what to expect in an inspection.

Danae, your question now made me curious so I called the hotel and sorry but no they dont have a hot tub, gesh didn't know that was a requirement. Sorry, Im sure you could all shop around and find a hotel that does have one. But good luck staying in Tally and not going broke on a room!! When I was looking for rooms, I was more concerend about places with free food, guess I was trying to save some money for the whole event and the more you have to feed people the more your budget goes out the window. On a personal note, myself just feeding my family breakfast everyday would cost me at least another $20/day of cash that most don't seem to have right now due to this wonderful economy, and I know several of the folks coming up with families would rather have their families fed then have to dip into their pockets for more money. That is just my mentality though.

If a hot tub is a requiremnt you guys can all come help me pack up my house, and then walk next door to Martys moms and hop in her hot tub

I don't camp (almost never). However, I am staying at Mike Cross' house inside. My version of camping is staying at the Red Roof Inn that we had for Geezers. I am a little priss when it comes to that. Or I have been far to spoiled. I do have to camp next month for Cub Scouts....and I am not happy about that. I will only do one night and leave right after I get up. I don't need a hot tub...it was just happy thoughts. I have been warned of the cold. I was thinking how of how I could pack 10 pairs of sox for 2 days, 10 layers per day....I sit at my desk all day with the heater blowing on my feet. Again I am a spoiled priss!
 
LOL, well I just heard the temp here in Orlando will be going back up to the 70's next week, so I am hoping Tally will be in the upper 60's during the day by the time we get there. I do have a space heater, maybe I should pack it and drag it up with me so you have something to keep your fingers warm so we dont get messed up scores!!

Spoke with Scotty this afternoon, sounds like pre pruning is going nicely. THANK YOU to Perry Odom for all of your amazing help! Also many thanks to The City of Tallahassee and Wolf Tree for all the help.
 
Well, we finished the ENTIRE competition in one day, I finally get to be the first to say who won :o)
CONGRATULATIONS to Doug LaFortune who won the Master's Challenge and will be representing the Florida Chapter at the ITCC. Coming in closely behind Doug was Colin Kelly, followed closely in 3rd place was Tim Walters. The guys all did a great job.
The trees were set up quite nicely, and a huge thank you goes out to all you guys who set up everything from site prep to dealing with my insane rantings. Thanks to Bruce, Jonathan, and Artie for flying in to help us out!


On that note, while the rest of you FCTCC folks are playing at a bonfire, I am getting my kid to bed. So good night, and again a MILLION thanks to you all!
