11.7 mm Velocity soon

Tree stuff has it online, its 12.7mm...its thick and heavy like blue streak.....think I will stick with 11.7mm bluemoon
it runs better through my SJ2.....

Love it! Feels great in the hand and rope wrench loves it. It is heavy but for SRT i'm not all that worried about weight. I'm using 8mm OP and that seems to be a good marriage.

I climbed 100 ft fir trees all day, DRT. Felt very good on hands, did not run thru pantin as great as Tachyon - maybe I will get used to it and be able to 'kick out' without using my hand.
I used 8mm Bail Out (VT)and my hitch climber. Very, very nice marriage here too.

p.s. - I got a roll of Bail Out, gratis. I kinda got to use Samson because I live 10 miles down the road. Plus, I am in the new catalog - so that makes me a poster child.

Nice rope - not mushy like Imomori.
Also, ran dry over crotches in tree (no friction saver) and it did not pick or look bad.

Just wondering if there's any more updates on the 12.7 VORTEX climbing line, it looks good and fat for footlocking....Im thinking of getting a hank of 150ft. and going VT with hitch climber pulley , not using the SJ2 through it....

I like it. I have been using it with the rope wrench as well as with the pulleySAVER on some removals. The larger diameter is nice to grab onto. It isn't super bouncy but there is a little give to it. The feel and grab on the rope is nice. I like it a lot. A good climbing line overall.

Answering my own question here....I bought a 150ft. hank of 12.7 vortex with spliced tight eye and really like drt footlocking, VT with hitch climber pulley... bigger diameter is easy to grab and pull yourself up, I would buy again.

Robina,

Its def worth a try. I got my 200' hank last week and love it. Only been able to climb on it a few times so far but I personally like it alot! It sure is fat though, I was a little scared when I opened the box, looked like a rigging line :) Its really supple and easy to tie knots with. I'm currently using 8mm HRC but may try something in 10mm because of the larger size rope. Did a 95'ish climb last week and it wasnt too heavy, waxy or bouncy.

Just my personal opinions but I'll give it two thumbs up!
