11.7 mm Velocity soon

When it got on the marked I climbed one week with the 'old' velocity. Couldn't get a grip on the small 11 mill. diameter and went back to using the S. Speedline.
Let's see if the .7 extra will do the trick.

I am looking forward to the bigger Velocity...

I own many climbing lines and would rarely choose my (11mm) velocity. Got it for footlocking at a comp.
My go to ropes are NE Hi-Vee and Tachyon. Also like BWR by Samson.
After I did the Samson phot shoot, I found myself with 3 150 hanks of velocity. We have been climbing on the(free!)rope all fall. I am o.k. with it's small size - especially for the price.

I will be getting myself some Vortex pronto. 1/2 inch will be great!
 
Just saw a sample of this rope the other day. I was a bit dissapointed it is actually 13mm. I was looking forward to a slightly larger velocity, but not 1/2". Also felt really mushy, but the sample was only 3" or so.
 
This stuff is awesome man! Got a 200ft hank by luck and being in the right place at the right time and I've been climbing on it for a few days now. Loving it. I SRT pretty much everything now and I'm loving it on this rope. Love having that larger rope to grab onto, has made climbing SRT that much more enjoyable! I don't really notice the extra weight at all, but then since I climb SRT, I have less rope to tend.

But I highly recommend this rope to anyone. It feels kinda squishy, but its really not once you start climbing on it. It tensions up really nicely.

Oh, and its a dream to splice!!

All in all, an awesome home run by Samson!
 
Cool - I live 10 miles from Samson and I want a hank.
A chainsaw (not mine) hit my Tachyon last week and now I am waiting for Wesspur to give me the nod. Will get new Vortex.
 
Yes, I am with you - I bet they wait until after TCIA.
Also, I almost bought the Imori earlier this year - felt super mushy and friend told me he did not love it. I hope the Vortex is better - I liked CountryboyPA's review from before. Sounds like a dream
I also am due for new 150'
 
to bad about imori being super mushy. it will be a hand felt contest at the trade show between imori, vortex, tachyon and blue moon. might check out rocket line also.
 
Got it last evening. It's huge and heavy. Wow i'm so used to Velocity. Now this rope looks like a mooring line. Funny what we get used to. Super soft and good grip. I'll post reviews once I climb on it. I think today is all bucket work.
