    Rock Exotica Akimbo (SOLD)

Brand new Akimbo. This Akimbo was shipped to me direct from RE as a replacement for one with possible manufacturing issues. Never used this Akimbo only opened it to make sure it was all in there. Difficult to part with after waiting so long but the BDB just works better for me. $350 shipped free...

    Gordon's new Dogbone update

The tapered bollard sounds cool and I would like to try it eventually, but having the ability to "fine tune" with the adjustable bollard is gonna be hard to beat. I'm assuming with the tapered the friction is what it is....the adjustable is nice if I'm feeling like I want a little more...

    Gordon's new Dogbone update

Gotta say I do like the adjustable bollard, it's got to be the easiest device to "fine tune". If there was a way to do the adjusting without having to have a tool to do so that would be fantastic!

    Atlanta Tree Worker Killed

The training Oldoakman mentioned included practicing rescues on spurs. Most of the departments that were at the training had spurs for their department. The Georgia Arborist Association donated equipment, including spurs to any department that did not have the equipment.

    Atlanta Tree Worker Killed

I would just like to add that a rescue of this type is very different for a TRT team than for a climber at a comp. At the comp usually the access line is pre-installed, you are geared up and just have to step foot into the ring. The base of the tree and the tree itself has been cleared of...

    Atlanta Tree Worker Killed

Given the wild and unacknowledged contradictions in the news article, it is possible that the 2 hour time was also not accurate... I have only seen what the video shows and have not spoken with anyone on the scene of this incident. I agree with Colb that the time of 2 hours is possibly...

    Atlanta Tree Worker Killed

The basic accent/decent taught at the Rope Technician level is similar to caving. Advance using a chest prusik and a set of purcell prusiks (foot loops), then perform a changeover to a rescue rack. Many departments have Petzl I'D's or similar devices to add the ability to climb using RADS...

    Atlanta Tree Worker Killed

Terrible news. I was fortunate to be at the training mentioned by Oldoakman. Participated at Geezers a couple of times and volunteered at a couple of comps. I believe training for rescues of this nature has increased substantially over the years for many departments TRT’s. Our team had an...

    This is the Akimbo

I did the 3-in-1 oil on areas making contact between the control arms and the bollard pin. Worked with it for about 5-10 minutes and now it opens and closes very smooth. I had contacted RE and they were quick to reply, I let them know what I did and that it was all good. While on the RE site I...

    This is the Akimbo

Got it open, it could be operator error but it appears the upper and lower control arms contact the bollard pins very tight.
