Rollback tow truck for tree work

These are the ones we use. We replace them annually because they cost way less than a new nifty. No it really doesn’t bounce much. It does roll with our crappy roads but the biggest difference we found is chains pounded the machine on bumps (not an air ride truck) but the tire straps allow the...

Rollback tow truck for tree work

Ps we DO NOT uses the chains as tie downs anymore. With the nifty suspension we found they bounced out of the pockets leaving 100k teetering up on the truck. Wi use the 8 point tire straps now.

Rollback tow truck for tree work

Sorry guys not on here much. Someone sent me a message so I checked in. We use a 22’ Jerrdan aluminum roll back on an F650 with GVW of 26,000. Its great for hauling our nifty, skid loaders, excavators and the like. I would however NEVER use it to haul wood as our deck is aluminum and lacks the...

    Sold - Wraptor for sale

I’m looking to part with my wraptor. I haven’t used it in well over a year and the guys don’t want to use it (they prefer our lift). I am the second owner, I bought it with the understanding that it had never seen ethanol fuel. My crew stayed true to that, it has always seen ethanol free fuel...

    Anyone use a rangefinder?

I use one all the time. It’s great for estimating distances from center for crane work, height of tree parts to see if lift access is possible and have even used it for estimating log lengths for the 20% rule of landing wood flat. I bought one on sale at cabelas for $149 and kick myself that I...

72’ backyard lift - CMC vs Platform

Yeah. We rented one of these lifts a few times locally before we decided to buy. They hauled it around on one of these. So we bought the lift in December and a trailer to get us going for a few months until we could find something like this. Works pretty good. We just need to work through...

72’ backyard lift - CMC vs Platform

It works.... so far. That picture was taken on day one. Have a bit of tie down work to do and see if the DW will fit on the back but it rides nice and it’s not banging the trees going down the road at 10’5” Oh and fab work for a block rack in the SD but we are in the design/fab stages of that...

72’ backyard lift - CMC vs Platform

Our nifty sd64 is set up sub CDL. Can’t run like a bucket truck but that’s ok the lift is fast enough to make up for that.

72’ backyard lift - CMC vs Platform

width has not been an issue for us as of yet. But it all depends on your market. Ours is urban to rural so gates are typically not a issue. And if they are a set of rails is easy enough to remove. On the other hand if we can’t get the SD in the brush is going to suck to get out so we typically...
