Here is a closeup of the trunk. The house is over my back left shoulder. The lake is directly in front of me ( I am facing the lake while taking the picture. ).
This is a picture of the target area if we got a wind event off the lake which is to the left of the picture. You can see the maple in question off to the left.
we have gotten straight line wind events that can take down mature 24" oaks by the root. A client asked me to assess this maple. I am curious how some of you might rate this tree.
Active ingredient insole-3-butyric acid. Hmm as I actually type that name I can only imagine what an acid trip that must be for a tree to lose its fruit. Acid was not a drug of my choice and if that is what it does for sex that would explain a lot of things. Lol.
I got all the equipment I need. I got me some weekend helpers. Going to start my own tree service! Need a good professional name for my company! Lol!!!!
Anyone been doing trunk injections of any kind. I am looking to treat some cottonwood with florel for fruit ( a waste of time and money in my opinion, but client is requesting it and no one else round here knows much about trees). I'm in hillbilly got me a bucket and an old digger Derrick I kin...

Apparently it was not a root zone failure. Sounds like it was a trunk failure at 6" above grade. It failed April 2nd during high winds and some snow we got. No snow load , or very minor if any. We had a hard northwest wind which makes sense. Prior to that storm we had several other high wind...
same log. Top end has decay in entire heartwood ! What fungus is this and will it spread to other white oak lumber? Is the wood structurally still sound. I am guessing not but wondering if this fungus will die when sawed open and leave me with unique grain patterns. Does any one have any...
Yes, consider your position in the company and don't step outside that. The one handed saw issue is the absolute worst to start in on. I think the rule is a should which leaves it open to the saw operator. I am a company owner and if you have been one handing for 10 15 and 30 years with no cuts...
WoW! I inspect and replace when I am not comfortable. I don't climb much any more so my bridge is over 2 years old but rarely used. Wondering about deterioration. Anyone have pics of backed up rope bridges. ?
