    Tips and Tricks

Groundskeeper rake is a must for me. Spring loaded replacable tines. Very aggressive- you could probably move chunks of firewood with it. Excellent for stump cleanup too. I've used the same one for the past 6 months and it's still going strong.

    Tips and Tricks

If I have long hauls of brush or logs with the mini, I like to tie my trash can to the front of the grapple and kill two birds with one stone. Saves time and energy.

    Tips and Tricks

There have been several of these threads through the years. I remember enjoying reading them before and picking up a lot of cool ideas, but I can't seem to find them all. Seems like a good time to start a new one. What are some little tricks that make your work day easier? Climbing, rigging...

    Thoughts on Vermeer S925TX

Hey, guys. I've been looking for an 800, but my local dealer doesn't have any used ones available. He is going to bring a new 925 for me to demo. Are any of you familiar with this model? It just has the 24.5 horse engine. He said they took the 725 and beefed it up. Any recurring problems...

    What would you charge?

Yes, I use that all the time and it saves a ton of time!

    What would you charge?

I couldn't find a green wood weight chart to see how catalpa trees compare to others, but it was EXTREMELY light. I wasn't thinking about that when I bid it and figured on having to rope down most of it. Turns out, I was able to use snap cuts on 75 percent of the limbs and then just chucked...

    What would you charge?

That's the goal! I used one for five years at my old job and know they pay for themselves and save your back. I would love some more equipment to make my life easier, I'm just trying to stay out of debt as much as possible. My wife stays home with our two kids, so I feel blessed that she...

    What would you charge?

Yes, I was Yeah, it's not really the price most of the time, but more the time that I worry about. I have a hard time thinking somebody will hire me if it's gonna take three days when the other company would take one and we're charging the same.

    What would you charge?

Thanks for the input guys! Dsltech, no I would not have bumped my price up if it went worse than expected. Usually, I just use it as a learning experience to bid more accurately in the future. I charged $1400 for the tree. And quoted them $250 for the stump. They decided to make a table...

    What would you charge?

I know it's extremely hard to tell anything from a picture, but here's a pretty good size catalpa I did today. Pretty good drop zone, but notice the sidewalks around the log. It went a lot quicker than I was expecting and I told the guy I would take a couple hundred off. He said don't worry...

Hey, now you don't need a stump grinder!

Haha, you think those guys have insurance? I like how his one piece of PPE was sitting on top of his ball cap. Actually, upon closer look, those are just regular sunglasses.

Preferred method for hauling away stump grindings

How does that compare to the groundskeeper rake? Ever used one of those?

Hey, now you don't need a stump grinder!

I like how he keeps yelling to pull harder after the tree has already moved quite a bit and is obviously uprooting!

Hey, now you don't need a stump grinder!

I'm not sure if this is already floating around the BuzzFlix video thread, but I came across it the other night and thought it was scary/hilarious.

Help with Vermeer SC252 Stump Grinder

Thanks, Marne. I just looked and that is exactly what I needed. I feel stupid now! I saw the two holes on the wheel but was overthinking and missed the back hole to line it up with.
