If I'm understanding you right, it would be impossible to retrieve. It would flip your working side over the limb and create a ton of friction. I like how you're thinking though.
You can do this setup with a ring and ring, but the only drawback is that it isn't midline attachable. Still works fantastic for retrieval. Haven't found a number of redirects it wouldn't pull.
How were they setup when they failed? I asked around, it was done with a static pull test. Rope broke first everytime. Curious how they managed to break a pinto.
It's been tested by a third party. I should have mentioned that in the video. Knot failed first every time. Cant remember who tested it, but I can find out if it really bugs you. I don't think the pinto is as brittle as you think it is bud. Pinto strong like ox.
