If we could get the feds to fund tree removals, then yes, we'll have it. Wind turbines are heavily subsidized to make them and the industry supporting them viable. That may take a while for the tree business. But it would be cool - would love to see it!
$3k is a rough figure I use for budgeting climbing packouts for 2023 (ropes, lanyards, pulleys, mechanicals, light rigging). I tend to shop for discounts & sales to keep it in that range (Wesspur had a great 15% off sale on almost everything in Dec/Jan)
That doesn't include PPE things like...
Amazing! Is that near Anacortes? Looks familiar to me ( family up there ). But there are so many great views in WA it could be one of thousands! Headed up to Anacortes in two weeks can't wait!
Side story: I grew up in NSW Australia, and as a kid mom (mum) gave us all salt pills and put white zinc creme on our noses when we were outside playing in the 40+C (104f+) heat. It was standard operating procedure back then. Haven't been back in a while, but it probably still is.
There are a few varieties - there's a flavor with caffeine boost and one with extra Vitamins and one with probiotics. I usually take the Lemon Lime - I will drink two maybe three over a few hours with plain water in between if I'm really working so I've never had that experience.
Are you sure...
I've been liking the Liquid IV stuff. It's got sugar, but you need sugar for energy. As long as you don't overdo it, it's fine. Most folks are couch potatoes and never burn it off. That's usually not a problem working trees. It's overpriced like all this stuff, but I grab it on sale if I...
I have a 90' sweet gum at the front of my house and I HATE cleaning up the prickly balls it drops. I was going to take it down this year, and replace it with some river birches but a hawk decided to set up camp in the canopy, so the tree will get another year of life raising a hawk family...
I use sweetgum in outdoor firepits all the time - burns great. Don't think I'd use it with an indoor chimney vs oak or other hardwoods. Milling - never tried, but seem like it'd be ok for some stuff. I think it warps a good bit, though.
Add some spiked steel wheels so it can move laterally and a dji like remote control and you've got my interest. Basically a forestry head that's solo deployable. I can't wait for the day when I can deploy my tree drone from the ground and have it climb the trunk cutting as it goes. Oh and if...
