    Preventing Panic Mode

Exactly and we have to know how devices are designed to work so that we can stay out of their way and let them work. Clothing, tools, hands etc. holding down the top "springed" devices or otherwise disabling the "spring" in other devices.

    Preventing Panic Mode

I imagine most are like, "right, don't panic and pull down on my Blake's hitch, got it, don't need to listen to an hour of that". So how does an experienced climber ride a modern device to the ground and blame the metal. (See the paragraph above for that answer) Hope I don't sound rude but...

Another reason to check your bridge cordage

Ok, I understand now, thanks. I probably tie and untie those stopper knots more than most. I treat them almost like any other knot in my climbing activities. So if a climber is spending a lot of time in the same place of that bridge, imagine just adjusting the length, either end or both ends...

Another reason to check your bridge cordage

Middle of the bridge? Does something stay in place on the middle? And the cut to get it out of the paws confuses me? but I'm easily confused. I'm not sure I see "distortion" or rope memory as a huge concern but excess wear in one place yes. Could you expand on this?

Expanding the use of my Hook system

With upmost respect. What I will never do is completely detach, not that I couldn't get away with several time but because it opens a door I don't want to use. If there is something that would be easy to solve by detaching, I'll consider it a challenge to solve it the hard way. Not trying to...

    Bridge rope construction

A Most 16 are 12mm vs 11.7 so yes, I'd consider that in my purchase decision. I truly like to see what I've got.

    Retrievable non-life support trick

I understand now, cool idea and I am seeing it used with a lowering line retrieval. There is also a retrievable redirect that is being used for life support that is basically a short daisy chain that can be pulled from the back side of the redirect. Also a cool idea until something comes down...

    Retrievable non-life support trick

Basically as there are variations. As you describe it has been called Dragon tail. If the bight is above the mulitcender it is an On Bight redirect.

A small radius would limit the lock off feature. No problem just thought trying it would be easier than talking about it. Cheers

I hate that term "control mode" as if the other is, uncontrolled. Wish it was squeeze or compressed mode.

Seeing the foliage shake high up as I climb makes me nervous.

My problem with a bounce test is you have no idea what force you applied nor can you specify how much bounce, also trees are designed by nature to resist sudden forces. The bend and bend and hold as long as they can until finally the lignin cellulose complex structure just can't hold any...

Seeing the foliage shake high up as I climb makes me nervous.

For all the reasons I've mentioned in those videos but most of all, limbs generally don't break that way.
