Dialing in the uni

Both…. Obviously worse on srs. While on srs there seems to be no sweet spot, squeeze hard and it is either stuck or not, take a wrap and it tries but so much friction it’s nearly like the rope wants to be fed into it. Thus re engaging the arms.
Feels like there needs to be a break in period
That sounds odd. After the initial shotgun-going-off sound as the plates are opened, single line descent should be fast and smooth (control mode). Your control hand should be just feathering the line. In fact, it takes such a small amount of force to stop descent that it is possible to control it with your feet, kind of a footlocker type of position. MRS is always more unpredictable, just because it is what it is. Does the rope run through pulleys, rings, natural. Is the 'loop' touching parts of the tree etc.

Got it in my shopping cart.. I’m hoping it will help, but with the amount of force it is taking to squeeze the arms even with the wrap to release I have to then lighten the grip on the line to move at all. More often than not this just rengages the arms instead of descent
I have a spare I'd be happy to loan you to try out the Climbing Innovations mod. PM if interested. Seriously NO obligation.

I’ll likely buy one, no offense but if I drill holes in for mounting I want it to be a definite situation. Thanks much for the offer!
I’m curious if you have tried something less half round? More along the lines of a 25% radius?

A small radius would limit the lock off feature.
No problem just thought trying it would be easier than talking about it.
Cheers
