    Double sling pick.

Like everyone said, the cut should be the same as you're used to. However, I wouldn't attempt it in one single thru cut. Too much risk of a pinch, if everything isn't perfect. At least break the bark on the bark on the backside first. Don't have to go any deeper than 1/2" or so, just enough to...

    Life in the temperate zone...

Can't ever hear anyone say "chianti" with having a flashback. Tick, tock. Tick, tock.

    Whats your favorite friction saver?

Upgraded to a Pulleysaver a few years back, but found I still prefer my old adjustable ring n ring for most work. It's smaller, simpler, can set it from the ground, and easier to retrieve.

what do you condier high hours for a bucket truck

Our 2003 has 13k hours. In frame engine overhaul at 12k, but to the best of my knowledge, nothing major done to the boom. No plans to downgrade or retire it anywhere on the horizon. Not a material handler though, and it might depend on how hard they worked it or overloaded it.

    Best used 18" chipper

Exactly!!! Get the butt end of the log close to the feed wheels, and it'll grab it and pull it thru better than anything else. Best $15 you'll ever spend, as far as learning tree climbing 'stuff'

So as I ponder chippers you guys and gals get to answer all my annoying questions

I used to do landclearing (large stuff) and on dirty jobs we'd get 2 days out of a set of knives, what with skidding trees thru the mud and all.

Any of you guys have a sawmill?

And the bark sloughing off as it dries?

    Had to share this knucklehead

Face cuts are difficult. You saw the 8 minute process of putting one in that cedar, right?

Any of you guys have a sawmill?

Look at the shine on that! When you told me you were waxing the walnut, Dave, I had a whole different image. Thanks for the photo to clear things up.

    Had to share this knucklehead

Painful. Why use a rope brake when you have 3 bare handed friends in shorts and sneakers to get jerked around? And when you get to the heavy stuff, tie it around someone's waist. Who knew that fully leafed and top heavy pear would barber-chair like that? They should come with warnings. The...
