Annual CT rec climb Sandy Hook CT

My business partner and his son ( in his 20's, and hoping to become a climber for us) is interesyed, but has no gear

My only concern there is some years we've done this winter climb we've started out out in the woods with a temperature of 5°f climbing tall trees. Not a good situation for several new climbers on unfamiliar gear. I'm thinking lets schedule an "intro rec climb" in the early spring where we can focus on getting some new climbers on rope. Just my opinion. These climbs are always welcoming but winter conditions and woods tree are a challenging situation even for experienced climbers.

Good call Andrew on doing an addition climb for new climbers in the spring. These are some big Tulips and it will be about a half mile to mile hike to get to them. Things can get tricky quickly if people are not familiar with there gear. Looking forward to setting up a zip line on day one. If people are interested in day two i can take you to a place where there is a good chance we could see Bald eagles!

Shit, I'm out of shape , a hike. Lol. Hope it's not uphill. I hate hills. Did enough humping it in the Army. Lol

Only a few days away to climb some big trees in some great locations!! looks like we will only be doing one day, climbing on Saturday. The weather looks great looking forward to seeing everyone!
