Any way to redirect this redirect?

I used this redirect (pink dots) yesterday to cut the branch at the green circle. Is there any way I can use the available crotches (pink or blue circles on left and pink circle on right) to safely position a climbing rope at the yellow line so I can remove the rest of the branch? The limb...

HO wants this largish limb over his house removed. I've been thinking about it for a while and finally got started by using a redirect to remove part of it. I used my lanyard to pull close enough to rig it so it would swing and hang, made the undercut, then backed away before making the top...

A hanging dead limb was hiding in this pine. I cleared out two additional dead limbs on the way up. I couldn't tell from the ground that I'd be three inches shy of being able saw off the gnarly break, so I had to wag it around until it finally broke off. I spotted this climbing project...

Sweet gum on property line, HOs disagree on limb removal

I ran into the lady and her daughter while walking this afternoon. At the end of our walk we looked at the tree as I explained the potential problem with the limb and what I'd be doing to reduce the risk. She said it would be OK, and I told her I'd start in the morning. Then her daughter...

Sweet gum on property line, HOs disagree on limb removal

I agree with that /\/\. I think things would have been fine if I had worked on the left side first to remove the worst limbs. Dumb move on my part to do the easy stuff first. If there's a reason other than the number of gum balls maybe I can do something for the left side HO without...

Sweet gum on property line, HOs disagree on limb removal

What sort of cut would be best and how far up for weight reduction? Sloped cut to reduce the chance of it collecting debris and staying moist seems appropriate.

Sweet gum on property line, HOs disagree on limb removal

Here's the tree. A couple years ago they agreed on removing lower limbs because of all the gum balls. I started work on the right side, but HO there asked me to stop after I'd removed several limbs from her side. Left side HO was disappointed, but didn't press for me to continue. Now he's...

A nice straight up climb and a short climb on a springy (not quite so direct) redirect to remove dead limbs today. Getting the throwline through both crotches and over the small branches on the first shot for the second climb made my day. When I get so old that I can't climb, I'll just play...

    Tree oddities

After removing a bunch of vines from this tree I saw this vine-like branch (green dots) making its way to sunshine.

Here's what I was going after today... but a lot of it turned out to be the tree itself. But there was a decent pile of vine debris. Here's the redirect setup.

The redirect worked fine, and I got most of the vines removed. That leaves one vine-covered tree right at the edge of the lawn (above the stump). If I can get a line through that crotch in the upper left corner of the photo, I'll do another redirect to clean it up.

Well, that made a difference. Without all the leaves I was finally able to see a decent TIP, but it took a lot to isolate it with my weight getting caught in the vines. The TIP is high enough that I may be able to do a redirect to clean up the smaller tree to the left. The rope will be on the...

I would like to know what THIS was cut with. Looks like they used a large drill to remove most of the wood before making the final cut with a thin flat blade.

It's mentioned on this page, but I don't see any way to get the app. https://www.palfinger.com/en-us/products/knuckle-boom-cranes/highlights/palsoft_h_154548 PALSHOW.NET: Programme for showing payload curves and payload analyses

Meanwhile, on my devine worksite I made things look a little better by removing the rotten part of a broken limb... along with a bunch of moss and vines.

Removed a rotting dead gum tree with no limbs by lifting the pull rope with a throwline in the small tree behind the gum. One side of the pull rope was anchored, and I used the other side to add tension between cuts on the back side. Near perfect landing and ready for pickup.

Several dead limbs, one broken and hanging, along with a slew of sharp stubs. The hanging limb broke free as I was trying to put a rope on it, so I had to let it fall. I rigged the largest one down. The rest were cut into pieces and dropped. Ready for pickup. The pile of vines just kept...
