I hoisted the larger logs up, lowered the butt to the ground, walked over to guide the top down, setting the large log onto a small log, both preventing the rope from getting trapped and creating a skid log to slide the log on, as I pulled uphill, protecting the buttress roots and barely staying within the machine capacity to pull uphill, then sidehill the log to the piles.

Big storm here a week ago left us with a lot of non-vertical trees to deal with. Tree in the third/fourth pictures was an interesting puzzle: two guy lines on the uprooted tree (which was over a service drop), plus another guy line on the tree I used for my climbing line, since it's root plate was starting pull too. Another local guy had already limbed it up to where it was hung using his bucket, but didn't have the means to finish the job. Fortunately I didn't have to rig anything down, but it did eventually stand most of the way back up while I was in it with about 30ft of trunk left (pretty slow and steady though, so no wild ride). "non vertical trees" is a term I'll be adopting :ROFLMAO:

How you diggin the RRP on that Beal Access? Good shit there.

I was admiring the reindeer when I noticed the dead limb hanging over them. It was just big enough to mess them up, so I got the HO to move them while I climbed and chunked it down.

The next project is a bit more challenging. The tree's leaning toward the camera, so the TIP 75' up (green dot) puts me in a pretty good position near the break in the lower limb.

There's a lot of glass in the sunporch nearby, so I've got to be extra careful.

Several dead limbs, one broken and hanging, along with a slew of sharp stubs.

The hanging limb broke free as I was trying to put a rope on it, so I had to let it fall. I rigged the largest one down. The rest were cut into pieces and dropped. Ready for pickup.

The pile of vines just kept growing, and I'm finally calling it quits since I've used all the decent TIPs. I've pulled on everything I can reach from the ground, but the vines always break before the stuff up high comes loose. There's probably that much more still in the trees.

The yard debris crew picked it up before the homeowners returned from their Christmas/New Year trip, so they won't get to see it.

@Treetopflyer Nice work. Just a friendly tip. You can lower the main boom a little bit and it'll actually increase your ca[acity and distribute the load across the crane more. It's interesting that these cranes are actually stronger in the negative boom angle space. You'd be amazed to see the capacity increase when you hit about -6 on those boom interfaces. The Palshow app shows that pretty well. Seems counter intuitive until I saw it for myself. A lot of people don't adjust the main. I work my main all the time.

It's mentioned on this page, but I don't see any way to get the app.
