I'd argue a unicender is even easier... Except, maybe, for the wrap you are supposed to take for descending on SRS. But a zigzag isn't out of the box/no instructions needed for SRS either needing a wrench above it...
I've gotten to the point They haven't used it maybe 30 times where the reflex...
Sherrill catalog shows up today...this is the cover. It looks kinda like my gear bag... (Checked the ones I have).
I'm the only climber right now.
Note, the question in the topic...and I'm not asking if you have the same problem...
Made the trainer hitch adapter...it bent when I tried to lift the dump trailer. It was 1.5" x 1/4" thick angle iron. Oops. I found a piece of 3" angle iron that is 1/2" thick. Pretty sure that won't bend! I'll also add a couple pieces to distribute the weight better.
Here is the bent...

Except lately I've been getting them at Costco - 3 pair for $20 or 21.
I've tried several over...
I didn't even notice that "ring" until you said something. I don't think its ever been mulched...this is at my shop. Was a golf course for 50 years before the closed and I bought 5 acres of it in 2020. I did notice today a lot of bark on the ground. That might just be the start of diameter...
Got my first screech owl next box up today. Probably a couple weeks later than ideal, but I don't think they "officially start nesting until mid-March. Hopefully someone moved in!
Sounds like Kestrels might use it too ..which I thought could be cool. But then I read about how they "paint"...
I was playing around with the detachable swivel yesterday just for kicks.
The little tab, or whatever, that helps hold it in place when the rope is pushed against it certainly makes it more of a challenge to remove with the rope in as opposed to rope out. But obviously, you show with some...
There is a BMP that is very helpful.

I've always understood that it is the size of limbs being supported. What's important about the point where a cable is installed is whether that diameter is large enough to provide the support needed.
But I...
Curious: "...bring someone..." Who is that "someone"? How do you keep access to a helper without giving them adequate hours?
I'm glad to finally have a full time helper again! There are 2 sides to this coin, and I get to decide how to see it.
A) I can stress out about making sure they are...
These are along Lake Erie at the Marblehead lighthouse. As you can see, not much for soil. The missing bark - I'm pretty sure that was ice that was smashed against the trees in a heavy wind. Pics taken in 2021. They were still there last summer.
Added an ISC Klick 25mm. Originally thought about using the Cobra, but I don't like how hard those are to adjust on my old TreeMotion...I do like the ISC clips on my Monkey Beaver, so decided that was a better choice.
It would be simple to go back to original setup if for some reason we...
Besides diameter of branch, I also look where it is attached (trunk or on a branch...trying to avoid larger wounds on the trunk if I can push it onto a branch somewhere) and how big it is where attached. 6" branch on a 30" trunk, I'd make that cut. 4" branch on 8" trunk...I'd try to avoid, but...
Not much different than what @data farm 26 said...
Speaking for Populus deltoides
*I don't see them being blown over/uprooted.
*Large limb failures aren't "common" but more likely than an Oak. Maybe on par with Silver maple, or just slightly more likely.
*No special pruning...except maybe...
We had region-wide curled leaves on Oak and Redbuds (and others, but those were the worst) that past few years. Last year wasn't bad... wanna know what was different? No over the top dicamba application for soybeans were permitted. It is back on the table this year. I'm working with a...
Agreed... On all points. Control needs to be in place to keep off target impacts from happening, and there is very little strong control.
I guess my point was: those who follow the rules bear the cost, while those who don't bear no cost and are not punished for it.
No, OHSA should write their own standards for tree care and enforce those. Yeah, it should probably look a look like Z133, but that's not their document.
On one hand I'd be good with that. On the other I know the reality is that those of us who are committed to doing this the right way will...
So you would be good if all tree care operations fell under OSHA's regulations for the logging standard? That is where we would be if it wasn't for TCIA and ISA right now...
