Add quick buckle to TM Essential

My bucket truck reaches what I need to do like... twice a month, meanwhile I have like 20 SRT devices :p Partly because I'm a gear hoarder, but mostly because I'm usually in tall trees away from roads.... just need to buy the CMC 72HD+ Arbor Pro.... that would reach.... 15% of the trees I do.... more equipment doesn't count as hoarding, does it? ;)
i am contemplating buying a bucket myself.
definitly not excited about it but climbing street-trees is funky too.

In an urban area where a significant number of trees you work in are close to roads, I can't imagine NOT having a bucket truck or other type of lift. I'm an outlier because I live in a rural, hilly area where very few of my trees are close to roads or driveways. If you can do the whole tree from the lift, it's literally 70% less physical work than climbing, and lets you get places NO climber ever could due to safety. Hard on shoulders though, with all the cutting and tossing.

Added an ISC Klick 25mm. Originally thought about using the Cobra, but I don't like how hard those are to adjust on my old TreeMotion...I do like the ISC clips on my Monkey Beaver, so decided that was a better choice.

It would be simple to go back to original setup if for some reason we don't like this... Just needed to pull the stitching out of the loop of the waist band. It's never weight bearing, just to keep the webbing from pulling all the way out, so was easy to re-stitch.

I actually prefer that type than the high up model (older style) cobra buckles. The cobra lock up so tight it takes tools to adjust the webbing slack for adjustments. My waist size is pretty stable but winter layers became a problem.

I’ve advised a few women who went with the sliding buckle as shown, they had issues as it didn’t open up enough to get the harness comfortably over their hips.

Can be a grass is greener issue too

I didn't like the functionality of the slider buckle on my "new" used/unused TM Superlite (similar or same as the Essentials buckle). I mod'd to replace with a rated stainless parachute buckle. Still going strong 3 years later. It has a lot of tree work hours on it, been through all my rescue adventures.

This is not a suggestion to make this mod, it is a data point on what works well. Manufacturers tend to catch up eventually to solve chronic issues with their harness designs and components, nothing is perfect. A harness waist buckle should be easy to secure and release, easy to put the harness on a climber, quick to adjust for different weather conditions or situations where the climber needs to remove or add clothing layers.

Parachute buckle replacement for TM Superlite waist belt sliders. Lock stitched waxed polyester thread using a sewing awl. Buckle is backed by tucking the waist belt webbing tail back though the buckle. Sewn webbing "spacer" is attached to the disassembled OG slider buckle.
