Very awesome of you to help us out. I might have to take you up on that offer. What dimensions would we have to make for you to test them out? Iirc knot and rope needs them at 5-6 feet with 5" eyes, but it has been a while since i have had anything broken. I do think they do prussic cords but i...

It's in there somewhere. Not sure they do gear only ever seen rope. You might want to hit up an industrial maritime place they might be able to help you out.
Strait pull to break, but I'm sure if you asked and set something up special they could accommodate. They are awesome people and take the time to talk to you when you call with questions. Give a call and you could probably have pre cycles done if you wanted.
You could always take a prussic and milk the slack off it a few dozen times just to make sure. you'd have to anchor it on a tree and then pull the prussic over the lanyard a few times to make sure its equalized.
Knot and rope supply, 15 dollars a break, if you don't want your items back and i think its 20 if they send them back. I would call they might have updated pricing. They send you a report of the forces involved. I like to see what it slips at and have something in hand to prove my splices are...
I've been waiting on it for this next week or so. I have some time off and wanted to fill some of the days in with good splicing time. I'll post up some picks once I'm done. I got tenex rigging sling with pinto, 8mm AP poly, 10mm AP, some 3 strand that I'm having some trouble with, Fly, your...
This is a great idea. I like the cinch on it because it becomes a fully workable SRT line. I'll third that. If you need more testers in different configurations I'd be more than happy to give it a whirl.

Not a bad idea, but doesn't it make clipping in harder to do? just one more thing to complicate that movement. I'll have to give it a try to see whats all up. I don't have the problem you guys are talking about but would like to get...
If it was a broken crank you couldn't turn the engine over and it would make terrible sounds. Very terrible sounds. It still could be damaged beyond repair but broken, probably not.

google Samson, new england, and yale rope. they all have splicing instruction available to download. Best to go to the manufacture site first then to another. pretty much they are the same instruction just displayed different. I prefer Samson but that's just me.
Ya it would be difficult but just slide one item at a time and it should work. You might be able to make a wider bend on the acute side to help counter that effect.
Well the way I orient my biner once I'm all clipped in is to rotate the biner around so that when the gate opens its at the bottom not the top. That way then I need to move a TIP or do a rope trick i can just clip it off and on real quick. And the way the current biners open its the other way...
We need one of the good gear manufacture to make an inverted gate hms biner to use with the rope wrench and other odd ball applications.
I'm going to write a nice little e-mail and bomb all of the good ones. It will be going to DMM, ISC, CT, and Rock exotica. Am I missing any other good gear...
