The coating is insulation. You are much more at risk handling energized extension cords standing on the ground than a limb brushing insulated secondary cable in a tree.
If it's triplex only, it's secondary cable. Two insulated 120 volt legs and a bare neutral. No sweat on that. Not sure if Canadian secondary is the same voltage but as long as there's no primary above it you'll be fine.
Made mine out of 3/8" Amsteel a couple of years ago and it has held up very well. Besides being super strong, the Amsteel is also super light in weight.
You're right about the harmonics on a rifle barrel barrel, I like a free floater, but that's a different animal than shooting a bag through a smooth barrel. Anything to help steady your aim is an improvement.
They may practice that, but they haven't learned it from the quran. I know this may not quite meet the political correctness rules of the day but I believe it is quite appropriate to question the veracity of anything founded by pedophiles and rapists.
Most of the time that's true. In areas where path of fall is not clean or the back of the tree is very close to a house or other target we use it. It also works well when used a few feet up to jump trees over a fence or other obstruction.
I usually just have my groundie stand on my tail for a couple of steps.
For me, a throw bag is faster and much more efficient than a monkey fist, especially in brushy trees.
If there are sappier trees than long leaf pines I don't want anything to do with them. Hitches of any kind are pretty useless once the sticky stuff gets flowing. I've used a Buckgrab lanyard adjuster for years on them and it's been pretty bomb proof for me but I've got to say that BOLA looks sweet.
