Thinking about a custom build trailer. The rear end would be a tow behind stumper like a 630A but the front half of the trailer would be a sideways mounted dump box. So the whole unit is self contained and towable
Hey everybody
I was wondering where you guys would look if you wanted an old stumper retired, scrapped, etc. Even an old tow behind not fussy on make or model.
Thanks
I’ve heard this since blocks vs natural crotch and I haven’t wrapped my head around it enough to speak with authority.
However, if you have a 200lb log that is your load for this chat it is a fixed weight (force at the rigging point). Now whether it’s a block, fs, pulley saver, xrr, biner...
Climbing lines must be rated a minimum of 5,000lbs. MBS and always work in a 10:1 safety factor
Rigging lines should be used at a 5:1 safety factor so less than 5,000lbs is ridiculous I run 1/2” lines at 8,000lbs mbs
I like 1/2” not too heavy but easy hand grip and good strength. But what you...
I’ve done this and for light to medium it’s not bad. I usually follow the prussik with a slip knot in the line so it doesn’t creep.
Also be sure that your biner or whatever you are zipping down can’t hit that friction hitch. If it can just redirect then go to a separate location for your tender...
Can’t is a strong position. To snug up a vertical zip line it may be a pain but a top anchor knot down through a basal block back up to a porti or friction hitch. Basically a top adjusting 2:1 tensioner on a vert zip. But that will get annoying quick. A grounder is the simplest solution
Guys used to use rings at solid points or plan ahead differently. As for midline they’d run blocks or clevises for mid line spots they come in smaller but heavy duty enough pieces
I’ve seen those on smaller projects not bad. I have a system I’m just trying to workout and justify my $/“ while still hitting a minimum charge.
Phc pricing is not my biggest area of experience so I want to fit in and not devalue the industry and not rip people off
I’ve been looking at a site that brought in fill after the trees were already planted.
My initial reaction is excavation around the trunks. But I’ve been thinking and removing the fill is a nonstarter and plowing up the yard with airspade, etc not great so what about vertical mulching to...
Hey guys and gals
I’m trying to sort things out but ei has changed since I used to be on it. I’m looking at a couple people for part time this fall an extra pair of hands. They’re on ei now and I don’t have full time work for them but how much can they work before it screws up the ei?
It used...
One thing I’ve noticed that isn’t talked about in great depth is friction on the bigger rings going down with a piece is awesome but if you have multiple rigging points sometimes it’s a good hand over hand lean into it pull to get the rope back up to the climber. So keep that in mind while you...
Skyjack for climbing works well I just usually keep my t.i.p a bit off to one side not straight above so I can lean into it a bit. Also I 3:1 my top line to get it tightened nicely. Be ready for the bounce and stretch of your system, ropes, tie off trees bending , etc
If anyone knows any tips or tricks wit this model that would make my life better I’d love to hear them. Also I’m trying to figure out the year of this one if anyone knows. Thanks
