A couple things that Mike at palfinger told me:
They increased the voltage from 12-24
Hydraulic flow adjustment to the saw
I know there is a lot more but I cannot remember….it was a lot of information to digest in just two days on Ohio lol
So I got my first call for a sub job for another tree company.
Steve and/or CHT. Can you share your contract that you have signed by the contractors?
Thanks in advance
Here it is!! Delivered a couple weeks ago after a long delay.
I’ve used it on three jobs so far. It gets easier to use every day
Thank you Steve, CHT and everyone else on tree buzz who has offered advice.
Also, I must thank Glen G. (the inventor of the Mek). He was very helpful with my...
Starting to slow down here a bit…reminds me of 2008.
Newer companies are suddenly returning phone calls to potential clients and doing the work almost right away.
My local disposal business called last week to inform me that they have reduced their woodchip disposal price from $100 down to...
That’s interesting. The Kubota in my Niftylift has heavy duty red (like Venas). The kubota in my Kanga loader is green (like the standard green coolant).
I prefer the heavy duty red for all Diesel engines. I may flush out the green and replace
I like the idea of a voluntary inspection.
I have a customer scheduled for late winter. Her son got me the job and he happens to be an OSHA inspector. I might ask him to stop by.
My instructor at crane school said:
“When you have a crane it’s not a matter of if, but when that OSHA stops by.”
I’m a member of Massachusetts Arborists Association and I am a Massachusetts certified arborist since 1998. Bachelor degree in Urban forestry as well. The lead Professor in the forestry department had always insisted that you “don’t” want a visit from osha. I’ve always kept that statement in...
Has anyone here ever had an OSHA inspector visit a job site?
If so, can you specify what they were looking for?
Because my new Mek will be delivered soon I want to be prepared. Proper PPE is always worn on site. My brother and I both have our state hoisting licenses for lifting and...
Steve. Can you explain how you go about doing the bypass cut with your setup?
As a climber I use the bypass cut often when chunking down a spar.
I have an idea in my head with the Mek setup but not completely sure.
Similar story to mine but I’m glad I waited till now.
The technology/programming and the build/engineering have advanced quite a bit in the last 7-8 years…especially with how the crane works with the grapple saw.
More pics to come!
I was wondering about a grapple with rotator for the kboom
It’s a lot lighter
I figure it is a decent backup when the grapple saw is down. I know that would mean I have to work aloff. No big deal for me.
