It will be very hard for you to get the financing on a large piece of equipment like this. Even if you are an established business it can be difficult. I have had no success with banks and getting financing. What make getting my crane possible was it was used, and I put a large down payment...
This is our arborist trainee Nikia. She has been with us for about 8 months. She wanted to do some crane rigging out of the bucket, So this was her first tree. She did incredible. Its great to see your employees skills increase over time...and with her...in a short time.
I will start off by saying that your looking to go out on your own....so if you do not want employees or want a limited number...then Crane is the answer!
4K a month is pocket change...It might not seam like that now...but it is. If you can qualify for a 300K dollar loan then you will hustle...
You can also take a class that shows you how to run a crane in one day....and still not know how to run a crane. It takes a long time to get to know how to do crane work.
@Keith Pancake: I am way too busy to compete in this! However, I do have crew and equipment available to help with pre-competition work. We would also like to help out in volunteering the day of as well. If you could just let me know what you need from me ASAP so I can get it into my schedule...
Our chipper needed a new Valve assembly that is used for the feed bar. It was floppy and would not stay in place. I called Nortrax and explained the the parts guy what was happening. I didn't know the name of the part.
He knew what I was talking about and had it ordered that morning, shipped...
I think the biggest thing in buying any piece of equipment is dealer support....where can you get your equipment serviced? No matter what you buy..its going to break down at some point. The faster it can be fixed the sooner your back to making money.
I have about 10 gallons that I have boiled down this year. I break it out into smaller size glass jars. All it really costs me is my time on the weekend(my wife and I do this together, so its quality time with the family) and the price of the glass jars that the business pays for.
Okay, great!! I guess I would ask, is the bigger picture important to you as a consumer? What I mean is....do you care about the fact that I pay my employees an above average salary. That they make enough money to pay their bills, put their kids through college, go on vacation ,and support our...
The remote gives you the option to climb and operate at the same time. I think that is a huge advantage as well. But, I would also like it to have a seat as well.
Typically 90% of the work we do is removals. Of those about 85% of the people already have their mind set that they want the tree removed. 5% of the time I can talk them into preservation work to keep the tree.
Of the 85% removals we do their is often 3 or 4 bids to remove the same tree. One...
Well, I am not too sure about this. What I am trying to say is that if they hire us, they are getting the best value for their dollar. That might be the highest price, or it could be the lowest price. However, it will be the best value they can receive. (thats the message I am trying to get across)
I am really trying to tighten up my sales approach. One thing I want to think about is how to add value to my current services. Maybe I am already doing that. But, when someone calls me and is looking for an estimate for tree removal, how can I separate myself from my competition and make this...
I agree with this. It would also allow you the option to use your feet to control some of the functions. We had our crane go down on us midway through a removal job. I was able to back the log truck in and take some picks with that. As I was doing this it made me realize how smooth one of those...
Is that tyler equipment? I just called looking for parts and they said they were no longer a distributor of bandit parts. I had to go through BobCat because they bought out bandit? Is this true?
I think he is referring to the fact that if a crane operator showed up to your job, and you wanted to use those slings....what would the operator say?
My insurance is written that I have full responsibility of whatever happens when I am on site with my crane. Meaning, my insurance company is...
My point is....You can't climb on SRT in Germany...but you can sling large pieces of wood over someone house and your crew with a new devise that could potentially fail? Who are these guys you gave this to try out? Are they using this in a work environment? I know I was just audited by my...
