A couple weeks before I purchased my MB I had sent a request for such an item, but I never heard anything back so I just pulled the trigger and went with the as is.
I have the MB. I don’t like small Dees on the hip, and the large Dees for gear storage.
When stuck in a constant sit position, like cabeling, my legs go to sleep sometimes. I didn’t have that problem with my old Edge.
And I sure wish they were still doing the tang style belt on new harnesses...
Anybody ever been browsing for a new ride, and one is almost perfect, but it has 1 thing you don’t like, or another harness only has 1 thing you do like? You ever just wanna Frankenstein a few of them together?
Well,
My ideal harness:
Back padding and lumbar support of the Ergovation.
“Tang”...
Old thread. Sorry for reviving.
Any Ergo owners have insight on the sizing. I had the edge. Got. Small and the waist had a mile of slack. Had the monkeybeev, a small is a lil small. I have a 32/33” waist. I wear my harness above the hips though.
The Ergo can be disassembled, has anyone...
I was looking at the Kask Zenith. Kinda have an appeal to the full face air vent shield. Maybe it won’t fog up as much?
I have had the petzl Vertex for that last few years. Totally dig it. Fits good. But willing to try something else.
Only concern I have with the kasks is that I have heard...
That spider jack seemed to be advancing quite nice. What mm rope did you have with which Cam? I heard from one guy that his 13mm didn’t advance that well. Yours was smooth though.
I also have the Beeeeev. ‘‘Tis a sweet ride.
Nice video. Gotta say though- maybe a hard hat in your near future? ;)
Or maybe a way to use the sequoia with a chest harness attachment that has a dorsal connection?
[edit] : rear artachment for suspenders in NOT suitable to sustain a fall arrest.
Curious as to which harness people are using for multi/purpose bucket to tree operations.
Petzl Aveo bod
Edelrid TreeCore
Edelrid core plus CL
Buckingham Ergo with Y style fall arrest attachment (pricey setup: 850ish!!)
The stable Dee on the Aveo makes me think the movement of a rolling...
Thanks for the kind words. Recovery is going alright. Should be able to stand on my right leg the beginning of January. Then retraining the muscles and flexibility. Hopefully by the time the mountain thaws I will be ready to go again.
It’s painful going from climbing 6 days a week to all the...
Well put, my friend. I really liked the pick point of that tie-in, so may have still went with it even if my gut said other wise. That ties in with what you said about no tree being worth the cost of our lives.
There was only 2 large limbs being removed and and nothing else below that. So I don't think there was much added friction which was removed. But just like our gear, I am sure the limb had its own cycles to failur. It had enough to support me on the way down, but obviously not enough for the...
Just got out of surgery. They put a rod up through the knee and into the middle of the femur.
Thanks everybody for the support. I love the brotherhood aspect here. It's nice to have people to talk to that understand.
