Sorry for the late response. No real issues. They seem to work very well for us. Sorry but I don't know the model name. They're quite compact which is nice.
We use Cardo Pactalk (not sure of model) at work (municipality with 4-6 people using the channel). I've never used Sena but I really like the Cardo. They pair readily, are compact and have just always worked in the 6 months I've been using them.
I bought an old used tree truck with a Southco chip box in decent condition for $7000. My plan was always to put it on a F550 or similar. Now that I'm not working full time in my business and I'm working for a municipality, I'm just going to keep things as-is.
I vote that you either get some...
I got an email saying that Bandit dealers are running a special- buy a set of knives at regular price, get a second set 10% off. Not super generous, but thought it was worth a mention.
Great work! I know many in this industry bemoan the cat rescue. I don't! I've even heard people say something like - "I've never found a cat skeleton in a tree" Meaning that they all eventually come down. I'm of the mind that if I can prevent the pain and suffering of an animal (and the humans)...
I'm of course interested in the new DMM saddle but I'm also looking to get a new saddle very soon and to save a few bucks. I'm looking at

Is this from an era where TM was using better hardware than what they're rumored to be...
I'm well aware of the features and benefits of the traditional wire core flip lines, having used them for the last 20+ years. I'm asking if anyone knows the exact name of the flexy flipline I described and if they have any personal experience with it. I'm wondering which adjuster would work best...
I seem to remember Guilty of Treeson touting a really flexible looking wire core flip line. I think it was made by Courant? Does anyone have any experience with these? What's the name?
I did this as well for a couple of years. I had a great groundie who came to me trained and experienced. He didn't want full time work as he had other jobs so I found a staffing service who took care of everything. It was all app based and very easy, I just cut them a check every two weeks. They...
FWIW I've been in a similar conundrum as you and just went with the last option you described (2" front receiver, winch cradle, cheap winch) for my 2004 truck (which I'd love to upgrade but won't have that kind of money any time soon). I'm running the biggest, nicest Harbor Freight winch and...
I've been watching this series since Leo started. Such a phenomenal undertaking and a very well documented process of some extraordinary woodworking and craftsmanship.
Something else to consider is traction gained the other way, by hanging from a pull up bar. There are many benefits to simply hanging - active hangs, shrug pullups and tons of pull up variations that can really decompress the spine, build strength and fitness.
Nothing revolutionary here but I ditch the bungee/shock cord in favor of small diameter rope cordage in clear acrylic tubing which I thread through the holes and tie stopper knots. It makes for a stiff, unyielding half loop to rack carabiners etc. on.
What an amazing job opportunity!
Not to derail, but 10 years ago I had the honor of being an Urban Forestry instructor to at-risk youth at a Job Corps center on the Oregon coast. Myself and another instructor (great arborist and friend of mine) were tasked with teaching fourteen students age...
