both drop and static. mostly drops as i understand it. the breaking strength of the akimbo is somewhat irrelevant to the working load as the akimbo slips long before it nears breaking.

All you need is a micro biner or even a key ring. Clip your lanyard to that or make a small loop of throw line and Prussic it to your lanyard.

kernmaster is definitely a little skinny. it is not one of the ropes on the approved list. not sure if it hasnt been tested yet or it didnt perform well.

Thanks mark, I do worry about what people think of it. It’s been so over hyped that some are bound to be dissapointed. Even unicorns have to take a dump sometimes ;)

The ropes tested were new. I’m not sure if they were washed once or not. Are you saying the top cam was or was not sticking? You can use a drop of light oil to lube it or graphite powder if you have it.

Hi Jeremy. Generally, the top and bottom will want to be near the same relative settings. So, C/3 or D/3. I’ve not found an instance where having the settings offset by more than two positions works very well.

keep in mind too that even though the cams are not anodized there will be a bit of a break in period. as the cams polish with use the action should become smoother.

Lots of answers below, basically nailed it. Fly does not actually measure 11.1. In addition, it’s inclu on the approved rope list is based on actual testing and not on its stated diameter.

10-4 on the retaining flare. That was another design compromise. Go with an off the shelf bushing or have a custom length one made at higher cost (the next size shorter for off the shelf is too short). The flare is the same on the gofundme units btw. Keep up the feedback, I’m so relieved you...

I definitely thought about trying to spring load the bollards so they snap closed. I had to draw the line somewhere and adding more springs just brings the cost up. By flare on the bottom cam do you mean the edges of the concave face that contacts the rope?

Could be you need to open up the bottom settings a bit. There is a bit of a break in period still as the machine marks on the cams wear smooth.

Just to be clear, this was meant as a joke. The slop is designed in and very intentional. Second batch is the same as the first. Cheers

Second batch will be better. I’m sorry! But in all seriousness, there needs to be a bit of slop in the bollards to account for build up of crud. Some of the early versions were super tight and as soon as they got dirty it became impossible to adjust them.

the tending point was a tough one to redesign. it has to release when pulled downwards bu you don't want it to let go too soon. it takes some getting used to. i find that if i loosen up my tending strap it doesnt pop out unintentionally as much. i use a shoulder strap with a short loop of cord...
