This is the Akimbo

im in sunny san diego at the moment!

Jaime, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and trouble to create and post that video.

It is interesting and useful to hear your thoughts with regard to the design decisions that you've made along the way during the production of the Akimbo, as well as your own techniques and preferences in the use of the production version of the Akimbo.

Tim

P.S. Thanks also to @School for posting the video to this thread in the first place. I never would have seen it otherwise, and it exactly answered some questions that I've had running around in my brain for a little while.

Compared to the 4SRT chest harness, I prefer the Petzl Torse/Croll harness, or something similar like an adjustable neck lanyard. I like being able to adjust and control passive tension in the tending system. This helps to safely reduce unwanted pop-outs.

In the early video's Fairfield made with the Akimbo he uses the lanyard over the shoulder tending method. It seems the small tending point takes that option away without adding another piece of equipment. Has anyone found a solution that still uses LOTS?

I'm interested in watching your results. I still haven't ridden mine. I have 2 new focus lines and a new blue moon. I'm hoping I din't have to spring for yet another new rope just for the Akimbo but if so then I guess that's what i'll have to do.

Akimbo in hand...super stoked to test this thing out. First mechanical so am excited and nervous all at the same time. Can't believe how smooth the actions are and the quality seems to be top notch. Looking forward to testing it out tomorrow in the warmth of the apparatus bay at work. Will be testing it out on some sherill poison hyvee and some sterling static 13 mm
