Yeah, I've been thinking the same. Going to try that after new years festivities. After all champagne and devouring food. Well, if I'm still fit to climb after all that food that is...... :-)
Well, if the slot could be opened this would be a great hook for my chainsaw. But since the part indicated below can not be opened it's impossible to mount it if you don't have a belt on your saddle. I don't.
But maybe I will have to use my hacksaw..... :-)
I bought this hook from Husqvarna when I got my T540XP, but it's impossible to mount it on my saddle. Crap.... About the same price as the one from Freeworker. That one should work though....
Ok, get it. I guess that's what's RopeShield explained a few posts ago. Since I haven't tried my setup yet I'm still in the dark, but I can imagine that the way to go is to have a knee ascender not mounted on the spikes like the HAAS or SAKA. The Powerscender /HAAS combo is really sweet.
At the...
I don't get it. (I usually don't...) but why would you need the bungee function?
I have a HAAS and to advance that, a bungee cord is necessary, but in this case the ascender is tended just by moving the left spike upwards. Or have I missed out on something as usual?
I used the parts from the Pantin only. So both straps and the "thingy" comes from the Pantin. Easy on/off.... :-)
Haven't had the chance to try it out yet. Christmas recently and new year coming up. All drinking and eating. Hope my gear still fits after all this...
Really? I just got my bone delivered. Got to try that. I've been using a GriGri as a lanyard adjuster on my climbing rope and I was wondering about the BDB doing the same task. Well, now I know. Thanks. :-)
X2 on that also......
But just using one lanyard or flipline is not the way to go. I'll do a lot of spruce removals where a top line is seldom possible. But I always use my climbing rope in addition to the flipline and use a adjustable Cambium saver around the stem so I can bail out if necessary.
Been climbing on a Hitch Climber/RW and a VT for years. Haven't had any issues with that combo as long as it's tied and set correctly. But I guess it's a personal choice. Distel is indeed a bit shorter than the VT if that's any concern...
Get a Powerscender from Mike on this forum (or a spikescender from Kiwi)
You don't need to spike the whole tree, just Climb the rope. Add a knee ascender like the HAAS and you're all set. :)
It has to fit your spikes of course.....
Just before Christmas it has arrived! Some thoughs from the customs who asked what this thingy was. Well, it's for SRT obviously, I replied. Did no get any further comments from them...
Hitchless Christmas! Off climbing... Well maybe after Christmas, my wife tells me...
Merry Christmas to you all!
There's a third option if you're going for Distel Geckos: European spikes. Something in between pole and tree spikes. I use those on my Carbon Geckos. Really sweet.
....added some pulleys and a clam cleat as a brake. Really easy to load. Used a snap shackle (I think it´s called..) as a release trigger. Tried it out today. Works really nice.
Waiting for my bone to be delivered. Gonna fly it with Tachyon. Guess I'm going to find out if the bone is going to give my rope a clean shave.
