Petzl CariTools, small or LARGE?

Not bad! I really like the up & coming Rock Exotica locking Aluminum Caritools i posted a couple posts up from Bartletts Instagram. At first that what i though DMM was making but notice the gates on the opposite sides, from what it looks like anyway. I'll have to acquire both to check em out!

I like the smaller Caritools cause they're a lot cheaper and smaller profile. They are strong enough for stuff I hang on them. The 1 large one I have is for my saw. I'm looking forward to seeing the aluminum ones that are coming though.
 
I bought this hook from Husqvarna when I got my T540XP, but it's impossible to mount it on my saddle. Crap.... About the same price as the one from Freeworker. That one should work though....

That would definitely make a great saw hook, is the piece of SS from the clip only have a hole in it or is it a slot that the actual hook goes through? Very cool either way!

Well, if the slot could be opened this would be a great hook for my chainsaw. But since the part indicated below can not be opened it's impossible to mount it if you don't have a belt on your saddle. I don't.

But maybe I will have to use my hacksaw..... :-)
 
Try using a dremel cut off wheel on the side of the actual hook, so you can retain most of the brackets strength, if you have one. It doesn't look like it's that heavy of a gauge steel , to begin with. The strength is at the pivot point, up top. But it would be a pain in the Azz if it kept lifting every time you tried to remove something. IMO...

Yeah, I've been thinking the same. Going to try that after new years festivities. After all champagne and devouring food. Well, if I'm still fit to climb after all that food that is...... :-)
