New Climbing Line Reccomendation

I can't imagine that it was a Vortex problem. I use Vortex exclusively with my HH2 and it is as smooth as can be.
No idea if it was an issue at all just was told it was. Wow I have some serious thinking to do. I have always wanted to try vortex but the appeal of a lighter rope is growing. Options options.

I remember you saying you were a bigger boy magnum. I think you would the vortex once you got it in your hands. I used tachyon before I switched to vortex

By bigger you me large. Come on man I was born and raised in northern Iowa we eat nothing but meat and potatoes. I keep leaning back towards vortex as I have good size hands as well prob should just pull the trigger. I am just trying to get the best bang for the buck.

I have a bigass eyebolt through a beam in the garage I use to play around with stuff when the weather is bad. I once bought some 15' hanks of several ropes so I could see if I liked them. Granted, you can't tell much from a 15' piece, but you can see how it behaves with your mechanicals. I've made a lot of lanyards for my buddies, needless to say. I needed the splicing practice.

I got a 5 or 6 ft hank i could throw in a flat rate envelope and send ya just cuz

Not needed bud! I only like checks from Vinton preferably from IMCA meaning I won somewhere. I would take your word if you say you like it will prob just go with it. Just don't want to be stuck in the Stone Age by using big ropes.

I got both 11.7s and Vortex. Votex works with the mechanicals fine, just different then the smaller lines. I run them both or either one on any given day depending on, well nothing really. Just whatever I feel like that day.

I recently had sterling tendril..... It was a good rope, I milked about 2 ft off of 135ft hank. It performed very well but the 11mm was hell on my hands. I haven't looked at ropes since I went with vortex. Very content.

P.s. I know this doesnt help but yale prism looks cool as hell and performs well. LOL

No comment on my Vinton joke I am sad.

Vinton is a great little town. Ill take a small town anyday. Im pretty sure the Imca is the only thing it has contributed to the world. Lol

I grew up in a town prob smaller than vinton try 275 people. West of mason city. I liked it, we rode our bikes the post office all summer long and just walked to counter and asked "can I get my mail" the postmaster gave it to us without asking our name at all. That don't happen it a big town. Seemed like looking back I grew up in a big giant family.

Just 14? Yrs ago general store and post master. To bad my lil family had to outgrow the lil cabin in the woods. Less than 500sq ft. Small town life was busy in good way.
Back to Rope.
I really like Platinum by Teufleberger.
Some have complained about lil bump. Hardly noticable, especially in mechanicals I use like ART products, Gri Gri, ascenders etc.
It's a different animal! Nice in our hand because it's more solid and firm. Tight braid so it pushes and slides really well. Undeniably a safer rope. I prefer a light rope and the 10.5 is that plus the strength of larger line.
I usually retire my lifelines every year and just bought another 2 hundred feet. My original is holding up so well and may give it another season before it goes to rigging.
Actually would make a nice rigging line.
It's a smart rope. New technology that's not for everybody but with everybody inmind

After years of using Tachyon and Bluemoon with great success I had a go at All Gear Rocket Line. I can't recommend the stuff enough. It stays firm, grips well and you can't beat the price.
