Need Engineering Help

Looks good Steve although I'm still not sure which ascender you were trying to move. Is that your foot side or is it a non moving ascender on your SAKA/HAAS side?

Could you just choke an old eye to eye on the ascender and put clip through both eyes with some shrink tube over it to keep from snagging and leave bungie on? Why don't you want to take saka up? out of curiousity?

I could just choke an eye 2 eye but I cant find anything the length I want. While I'm tweaking I need adjustability in the system. I can't do that with an e2e. Likely, if I like it, I'll send the ascender to treestuff and have a specific length of cordage spliced into the bottom attachment with an eye at the bottom for a biner. I love the saka but when I'm doing a lot of crazy movement it ends up moving around a bit (inside the knee, outside the knee) like a banjo string. I could stow it and un stow it when used/not used.

Honestly, I have no reason. I saw this, it was cool, I have a gear addiction, I cant help it. I don't need it, I want it. I may never use it but I want it. There damn it are you happy. I need a drink.:tonto:

I used the parts from the Pantin only. So both straps and the "thingy" comes from the Pantin. Easy on/off.... :-)
Haven't had the chance to try it out yet. Christmas recently and new year coming up. All drinking and eating. Hope my gear still fits after all this...

@Huskyman I tried similar and found it a lot like having your shoes tied together. It's frustrating if doesn't float up and away towards centre line of sternal and lower foot ascender
I was afraid of that. The thought hit me. Well, I can always switch to my HAAS if this things feel awkward. But I guess I must give it a try first.

Grab a stretchy velco strap like on the saw pod, give it a quick wrap around your leg and the floating ascender when its off the rope. Easy and quick way to hold the flopping to a minimum without much downside.

Sounds good but I still wanna give this a go. Ordered some materials and am gonna set it up like the saka bungees.
I don't get it. (I usually don't...) but why would you need the bungee function?
I have a HAAS and to advance that, a bungee cord is necessary, but in this case the ascender is tended just by moving the left spike upwards. Or have I missed out on something as usual?

When you slide up the R foot and begin to put weight onto it, the L leg won't be able to deflect away from the rope path, and the R foot spike will be right against, or in the L leg. Could be some interference.

Ok, get it. I guess that's what's RopeShield explained a few posts ago. Since I haven't tried my setup yet I'm still in the dark, but I can imagine that the way to go is to have a knee ascender not mounted on the spikes like the HAAS or SAKA. The Powerscender /HAAS combo is really sweet.
At the moment it's all about planning the new years festivities, no time to climb. I'm the boss at my company but definitely not at home! Oh-oh, wife's calling. Gotta go...... :-)

Initially I was thinking the same based on Gorgio Fiori's model. What I will likely do is run the dyneema bungee through tubing secured in a short piece of webbing like the saka just along the outside of the shaft and stirrup. Then the tubing will continue down the inside of the shin cup ending at the bottom and the bungee will go around the shaft like shown previously. I wont feel the tubing on my leg because I put an extra piece of yoga mat inside the shin cup of the gaffs. Its really not necessary but I want to make something different that everybody hasn't already invented. I'm hoping it works but if it doesn't, it was fun brainstorming. It's funny. I look at treestuff all the time for things I don't need but want. I'm at about 100% satisfaction on my gear without duplicating items. Now it's just maintenance and replacement costs for things like rope. No more rigging goodies, no more climbing gadgets. Just don't see anything I could put to good use that I don't already have. Now what I need to do is squirrel away that cash so I can buy a wraptor. The only problem with the wraptor is its gonna make me really really fat. Well at least my shoulders and knees will still work to get my fat arse out of a chair.
