    3D printed throw weights

The white plumbing PVC (schedule 40) seems to not be very smooth inside, so unless you bore it, it’s a little inconsistent. The gray schedule 80 electrical is more precise and smooth, but I’m not sure how well it can be mated to schedule 40 white since fitting selection for schedule 80 is pretty...

    My rope launcher (pneumatic)

The dead blow effect being restricted to the bottom of the projectile, you would either want it to flip in flight (which might result in poor accuracy), or be capable of being loaded so it’s flowing in the right direction, which a tapered top with the line could potentially reduce some...

    3D printed throw weights

The inside of most PVC is not that precise, a bit of cloth wadding would make up for inconsistency in the barrel. My 12 ounce bag fits fairly snug in a 1.5” barrel and my 16 ounce bag is a really snug fit, both Weaver bags. But even having chamfered the muzzle, the bags are already showing some...

    3D printed throw weights

Have you tried shooting a wadded up rag out of your launcher? That was the first thing I did with mine. A bit of rag really doesn’t go far at all. I haven’t experimented with it yet, but I made a 2” barrel for my launcher just so I could experiment with using a rag as wadding so the bag isn’t...

I never have nearly enough Round Tuits. Oh the things I would build if I did… I am presently trying to work things out to be able to cut my vehicle repair times in half or better which would free up a lot of time for more Round Tuits though…

    3D printed throw weights

Dead blow has potential in my opinion, I blasted my bag off the same limb a pile of times trying to achieve my desired tie in the one day, I was frustratingly accurate at it hitting and bouncing. A dead blow may have let it drop right into where I wanted, instead it bounced past.

    3D printed throw weights

Interesting. I wouldn’t see any reason why a dead blow hammer type effect couldn’t be achieved. Might take some experimenting to make sure it wouldn’t blow apart on impact, might require a rubbery type material for the shell. I would think yes, but it would probably take some experimenting. I...

    Rope questions…

Climbed a bit of SRT on the new length of Scion and I have to say I’m quite happy with it

    My rope launcher (pneumatic)

Wonder if there’s an easy way to rig a short delay circuit, where even if you let off the trigger it takes say, 3 seconds to time out and release the valve… I think there is but it’s been so long since I played with anything like that

    Throw bag launchers and DIY…

Interesting. I would guess that the arc flash would be smaller/less violent for house panels since the volts/amps are lower than industrial panels? I’ve done electrical for quite a few years, mostly residential, but worked maintenance for a printing company for awhile and that was where someone...

    Throw bag launchers and DIY…

In my case I did do a bit of considering about this all. Thus I took certain steps, like trying to experiment towards lower pressure and making the air flow pathway as smooth and straight as possible. Not only does that reduce forces on the materials, but it also can benefit performance. The...

    Throw bag launchers and DIY…

I have done a little reading and research on this and this particular point was made because people were trying to use PVC and CPVC for compressed air systems in garages and buildings because it was cheaper than the “made for” metal and plastic lines specifically made for compressed air service...

    Throw bag launchers and DIY…

Listen, I respect where you’re coming from, but hear me out on this all… What started this was looking on YouTube and such and seeing guys building throw bag launchers out of 2’ sections of 1.5” PVC with a 3/4-1” ball valve and I’m hearing pressures of 100-175 psi, which honestly kinda worried...

    Throw bag launchers and DIY…

I did end up doing a little playing around with my little air cannon yesterday. Didn’t really do any specific testing but 40/50 psi was putting the 12 ounce weight up about 75’ so by halving the pressure chamber I doubled the pressure needed for the same results as the big one I built. Didn’t...

    My rope launcher (pneumatic)

At least around here people seem to want stupid money for anvils. I’d like a decent sized anvil and forge, but probably half of what I’d do with it all would be forging parts for my projects. Re bend a control arm or bend some 1/4” plate for a mount or something. Stop using a torch and welder...

    3D printed throw weights

Soo… you offering to produce them or trying to see if others have made any? Lol Seriously though, that’s pretty cool. Wish I had the time and money to play with a 3D printer
