Can you find Cougar over there? I've never heard of Tachyon/lava/sterling/Samson/Yale 11.7s.....
Kidding, I just love the coug. I've ran Lava/Tachyon the most behind Cougar. Also the Yale 11.7s, then probably equal time on New England's Fly and Samsons vortex.
I'm not really adding anything...
The gray is puke? I like the way it looks, though my blue is my baby. I need an orange to round out my trifecta. I need a wrench rope, a mechanical rope and a whatever the hell else rope.
Back to the akimbo. I want a BDB but man the akimbo and the tantalizing teasing of it being sprung on the...
I got to thinking about it after someone asked me if I trusted my splicing.
My answer was yes, because I wouldn't climb on it unless I felt it was absolutely sound.
Then I thought "well shit, they never get 'complete' unless you do them right"
The nature of how a splice is driven home seems...
Although it's not a "stopper knot".... Double fishermans with approx 5x re diameter of the rope as a tail. Cinching and easy to untie. Slide biner out and let it fold out of itself.
I have had it catch my hitch when using a HC. Tend slack, hitch compresses and gets under Fishermans knot and...
Thanks ARLO!
Didn't even have to consult my go to person for them either. Both back to back and no mistakes lol. It's all about the taper prior to burying the core back into the rope. Wish I had carried that over from the Cougar.
Tied off the the hitch on my truck. Saddle on. Biner in the eye. Milked the rope down with a thimble prussik a couple times and got it buried as much as I could by hand.... almost all the way. Bumped back in the saddle once or twice and it went right on in.
I messed up the cover taper on the...
Funny you mention this of all people Tom.
I've got a friend I worked with when I lived in the TC up there that "just can't see the need run SRT up here, the trees just aren't big enough".
His words. He is however the best dismantled I've seen by leaps. The dude can flat take a tree down...
We've got 150s, 192, 193, and 201s . The 193s we have will run like a scalded ape. They're leaps and bounds better than the older 201s. By far better than the 192s we have.
I leave the picks on mine as they are, so they're easily inspected, noticed, and not forgotten. Not going to say one way or the other about still climbing on it. I know what I'd do, and it wouldn't be climbing a different length rope tomorrow.
I've seen side by side comparisons at an undisclosed research facility, of the same age and species trees growing is as similar conditions as can be. Cambistat ones are definitely smaller, more compact, and have harder leaves. I don't know official "results" and haven't seen the same 'single'...
I'll likely give them another shot just because I've yet to see a bad review. I must've just gotten a lemon. I'm tough on stuff but that seemed excessive for that amount of time.
By far the most comfortable pair of boots I've worn though. I'll give em one more shot, but it'll be through TS...
No footlocking.
I want to buy another pair because they're comfortable and chalk these up to flukes but the customer service was horrible. I'm ok being told no. I'm not ok chasing answers.
The retailer I got them from was sympathetic but this was a clearance color and they had no more in my...
