what saddles are women climbers liking?

just curious, as we are built differently than guys and saddles are designed, for the most part, WITHOUT us in mind. i started in a sierra moreno sliding D with the "backjack" backpad, and climbed in that happily for 6 or 7 years. tried the petzl navaho and found the waistbelt twisted too much...

    Tree Services Cover (November issue)

hey everybody. just wanted to say that gillean is the one responsible for putting the ball of this article in motion (so to speak), as well as being the one to set up the photographer for the awesome women's climb 2008 pic!. so thanks gillean, for helping raise the profile of women in...

    Suggestion

thanks tim for putting that out there. i think you're right, that lately there's been a lot more personal/emotional interaction than in the past. which leaves less room for info exchange. the concept of resisting "reactive" posting is great and would imo raise the level of dialogue here if more...

    Tough Jobs: Tree trimming business

[ QUOTE ] I guess 170+ deaths a year is aceptable to you, well it's not for me, and I will act on taking a proactive stance to lower these numbers. [/ QUOTE ] well said. to me, this is more to the point than our public image as an industry. yes, it would be (will be) nice for arborists to be...

ArborMaster or North American Training Solutions

Re: ArborMaster or North American Training Solutio NATS is run and staffed by some former arbormaster folks and lots of others who had nothing to do with them. i've been involved w/nats for almost a year (along with a handful of others on this site) and am thoroughly impressed with the skills...

Splicing help for bailout and ultra tech

only splice i've ever done on ultra tech was a locking brummel, core only. easiest splice you'll ever do. bury is 4-6 inches on 9mm (?), tapered nicely. whip and stitch the cover where it starts to swallow the brummel. bailout is, according to samson and also now wesspur, "unspliceable". i...

    Mar Bars???

i think there's a lengthy discussion of marbar backup somewhere on here, with mahk adams answering your question. from my experimenting: if a cam fails in such a way that the device comes off the rope, you are in freefall whether or not there is another cam or even knot below it. if one cam...

    Mar Bars???

i got a full set and sold half to a friend - he got lower and i got upper, though either can function as either provided your feet fit into the smaller upper. i love them for footlocking. less hand fatigue and you can take a rest w/o having to "unlock" your hitch. it's definitely easier to stow...
