    11.1 tendril

Go to the Sterling website; Tendril has a few special instructions. It has the core within the core like Tachyon. The directions are well written.

    Core strand as whipping twine

I like to do this on hollow braid because of the nice contrast. I like the lock stitch to stick out rather than be hidden.

    Poison Ivy Splice

I agree, splice looks nice! Good job for sticking with it. Also, everything Oceans said. I put my whip lock at the nearest spot to the throat that I can get the needle through without worrying about eye protection from breaking needles! Just don't need that kind of stress, really. I also make...

    TM Second bridge

When I first started rocking the TM, the bend radius on the bridge freaked me out. I doubled the ring and that made the bend radius better to me mentally. I've since shortened up my bridge and switched over to a swivel. It no longer bothers me, but I'm super paranoid still about where my...

    Serius Rope Outer Sheath Failure

Just curious, has everyone been using the Sirius for natural crotch rigging, as it was advertised? Because I agree it seems to be unbalanced core to cover , way too squishy to use for anything but block and sling/XRR, etc set ups.

Rope Runner vs Rope Wrench for spar work

What Oceans said. Plus, when you set a canopy anchor, you can set a speed line for limbs, and you can also hook up a pulley or a revolver and clip your tail through, creating mechanical advantage so that when you've reached the bottom, a groundie can help hoist you back up to chunk the spar.

What useful things can be made with 3/8 Amsteel

I made a 1/2" Amsteel loopie for girth hitching to winch for log capture or around the brush pile ends. Strong, won't snap and fly all over like webbing or old line, easy to use.

    building a splicing desk

A heavy duty splicing bench is on my list of winter projects. I usually splice sitting down, then tie off to a tree outside to send them home. I'm curious how many routinely splice at a stand up table or bench? Better than sitting?
