    Teach me about dump trailers

Its also nice when they will build it with the axles and tag it for a lower weight (to help with CDL)

Potential customers who reach out, but never respond

Absolutely...if they are going to flake out, its nice to not have invested anything yet.

    Shadow Puppets???

Throwing acorns at ground workers (with helmets) from 70' in the tree is more along my lines of screwing with the crew.

    Storing a branch manager

Pretty sure you tell them what you have and they'll put the couplers on the BMP to match your needs. @tnttree is the best person to answer that though!

    Shadow Puppets???

I'm guessing looking at the shadows instead of the equipment and coworker??? Sounds horrifying. However it happened, a very sad incident

Which thread do you sell a whole business in?

Or start searching for private equity groups. TCIA has had a few things lately about PE in tree care. There's good and bad...but if you are looking for a path out that could be on path.

Giant Trees - a research project.

One other thought - this one is sorta neutral/point of discussion. Neither agree or disagree: "AMPLE ROOT SPACE: This measured whether there was an obstruction, such as a road, driveway, or waterway, within a circle measured as 5x the diameter of the tree. So for a 5’ diameter tree, that would...

Giant Trees - a research project.

One statement I'd question is: " ...the biggest takeaway I want to tell you all as arborists, is that these trees tend to have large low limbs. This means in order to cultivate the conditions for the next generation of giant trees to form, we must leave low limbs and give trees ample growing...

Giant Trees - a research project.

That's a lot of great data. Very interesting. I liked that you highlighted "My takeaway? Maybe those conditions shouldn’t be so concerning, if they’re still standing." We certainly need to define "concern". Maybe "abnormalities worthy of a closer examination" would be better language to use...

    Storing a branch manager

On an Avant? It doesn't matter... Attach detach wherever whenever. I don't know if you could do it while the line is being used but probably could.

    New Makita Top Handle

Where do you store yours? I've wondered if cold storage at the the unheated shop caused problems?

    New Makita Top Handle

I really like the Makita 18V too handle - especially with that little Panther bar you gave me @macrocarpa Unfortunately the batteries just don't last so it get really expensive...or maybe it's the chargers? One quit charging. Told me all the batteries were bad. I bought a new charger and...

    Reflex vs. Blackbird

I can agree with that...but I still used Unicender and now Reflex instead of the Zigzag because of ease of attachment. But once its on, the Zigzag is better. So I have decided that ease of attachment outweighs bump in performance. Just personal preference. I get why you crown it King of the MRS!

    Reflex vs. Blackbird

I wish RR would get the Unicender 2 out. It was previewed I think at the 2019 TCIA. I've still been happy with Reflex. Unicender sits in bag since I've got it. Smoother up the rope. I haven't had slippage (Yale 12.7 and Yale Imori). While I'm usually on MRS, and the Unicender is good for...

Damage Clauses for Driveways, Walkways, Lawns, etc.

So, now my question is: Whose responsibility was it? (city or homeowner???) And would you (or your insurance) seek restitution from that responsible party if there was damage to your equipment? I'd be a little hesitant to offer assistance...not because I wouldn't want to, but I'd worry a...

    Wildfires

I wonder that same thing. I think a few things can provide some protection (but I'm no legal expert!): 1) follow industry (ANSI A300 and/or ISA TRAQ) standards 2) include a time frame (that is repetitive of #1...just re-emphasizing) 3) include language about limitations of access to inspect...
