    Evo, They look like Apple to me. Final answer. Treezybreez: the yellow Almost looks like wet beechwood. Those are some impressive pieces of red cedar, rarely see them over a few inches diameter around my area.

    All great guesses on a rather unusual piece of lightning struck sugar maple! I have some larger pieces saved out that should be beautiful, this was a lower limb union set aside as a tester.
