In timed cuts, the archer cuts in half the time of the PMM3 on my 193. That said, I don't thinks it's the ticket for narrow cuts on a 201, but it's definitely the ticket for getting faster cuts out of a 193/194 running the stock bar.

There was another recent thread where user claimed his newish 201 did same thing. We suggested maybe someone screwed up mix. Apparently something else is going on. The tar has to be oil, so it has to be coming from mix (too rich, break-in) or strangely from some point in bar oil circuit.
@Bart_ I think you need to use n-1 in the exponent. The total pull is the sum of the lines, and one line, the one you're operating, doesn't get reduced by the factor. Right?
Just a question. When you're using that much leverage, do you feel comfortable using a base anchored pull line connection to tree. The base anchor by it's nature will impart a force vector down the stem, though how much depends on friction up top and rope angle obviously. I would rarely question...
Agree 100%, but the problem Phil is having is that he can't seem find the actual slimline drum anywhere. That's how this ended up at this point. That said, the Oregon part may actually be worth modifying, IF it doesn't just work right out of box.
Oregon tech service said the 100791X fits the 260, but they could not talk much about the saw being adjustable or non-adjustable oiler. The problem is that they said Stihl calls for the same part number on the 260 and 260 Pro, and they know nothing of their being a different part available...
I would honestly consider getting the cheapest one I could get and putting it a drill press and filing it down to the right dimension ;) The bitch of going to Oregon, while inexpensive, is rims aren't interchangeable with Stihl rims in case that's an issue.
